The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) has awarded an honorary fellowship to Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District.
On Wednesday, Otunba Daniel, a former governor of Ogun state, received an honour in Abuja.
At the conferment, NIOB president, Bldr. Prof. Yohana Izam, said the body decided to honour the engineer-turned-political based on his antecedents in the construction sector.
Professor Izam encouraged Senator Daniel to continue advocating for the built environment, specifically the pending National Building Code Bill in the National Assembly.
In his response, the former governor thanked the builders’ body, saying he doesn’t take the fellowship lightly. He pledged to support the body in whatever way they require.
Daniel emphasized Nigeria’s potential to develop to world-class standards.
