Popularly singer Davido revealed that tickets for the London O2 Arena concert have been sold out.

Fans of the Nigerian Afropop superstar hoping to purchase last minute passes were left disappointed as all categories of tickets have been exhausted.

Davido’s event is coming less than a year after Wizkid headlined the sold-out Afrorepublik concert at the same 20,000-capacity arena.

In June 2018, while announcing his plan to emulate the feat of his “brother”, Davido had said: “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains.”

On Saturday, the singer took to Instagram to announce that his bid to sell out the venue had been accomplished.

“I’m screaming,” he wrote, adding that: “It’s going to be a long day for haters tomorrow. Thanks to all that made this possible.

“The boy called David sold out the O2. See everyone tomorrow(Sunday).”

Davido’s last major concert took place in December 2018 at Eko Atlantic, Lagos.

The singer had to surmount a change of venue, change of concert name, reprinting of tickets and billboards as well as a lawsuit to stage the concert.

He said his crew and the organisers “only had 12 days to sell tickets and put this show together”.

Ahead of the London event, the singer also appears to be making headway in the US.

‘Fall’, his 2017 hit single, is said to be enjoying new-found success on American radio stations.
