Every year, Dr. Siju Iluyomade usually leads other women under the auspices of Arise Women Conference which she puts together. It is usually a grand event which brings many women together to arise for each other and arise for Christ.

At all the Arise Women Conference’s Dr. Siju Iluyomade usually stands out as she takes the centre stage. She is the one that leads all the women and  makes sure the day is all about them. She always looks so beautiful in her outfits, matched with her customised faze cap. She is a very stylish woman who loves to dress well, to the glory of God. She also loves to dance her heart out whilst giving glory to God.

The excitement is already evolving, as preparation ahead of yet another Arise Women keeps gathering momentum, both locally and internationally. The 15th edition of the non-governmental organization annual event championed by its Convener, Dr Siju Iluyomade has continued to receive credence for its impactful gestures, in national development across all sectors of the economy.

This year’s edition tagged #stepup promises to be more eventful, exciting and educating. As usual, a series of activities have  been lined up to spark up programmes. Sensitization programmes including the official unveiling of the 15th edition special T-Shirts with different designs as well as revelation of the official theme of the season tagged ‘StepUp’. The Convener, Dr Siju whose passion to impact positively on life of the downtrodden inspired the event many years ago and continues to make it successful despite the financial constraint, is again, poised to make sure all activities lined up for the 2023 season are achieved.

The initiative, has always been experienced by thousands of individuals including prominent Nigerians, both home and abroad. Notable personalities in business, politics, entertainment and also the vineyard of the Lord, regardless of faith or ethnicity, has also witnessed tremendous humanitarian activities during the event.

One of the major highlight of this edition, is the official beginning of construction of Arise Women International Centre. This building is a Multipurpose structure that will have Conference, Vocational & Skills Acquisitions and Empowerment Academy Centres. Also, the building will have a women’s hospital as well as hotel and resort. The commencement of the building is in commemoration of 15th anniversary of Arise Women initiative.

Main activities lined up for this season will begin with Arise Walk For Life on Saturday 14th of October. The Arise Golf Tournament holds at the prestigious Ikoyi Club on Friday 20th of October while Arise Football novelty match takes place the following day at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island.

The Arise Women Conference which will witness thousands of individuals across the country will be held at the Trinity Towers and 4 other event centres simultaneously along COD Road, Dideolu Estate,Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to the organizers, no fewer than 5000 participants, less privileged, will get the Arise Food Basket. Also, farmers will be encouraged with fertilizer seedlings as a form of empowerment.

Lets also tell you about the 2022 edition of this yearly walk tagged; “#Appointedtolive,” held on Saturday 15th October 2022 It was to promote a preventive health approach.

ARISE Walk for Life was a forerunner to the 14th ARISE Women’s Conference held annually and it is for everyone- male and female; young and old. Arise Walk for Life helped to improve wellness and better health among women, men and children. As one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, ‘HEALTH FOR ALL’ can better be achieved through prevention rather than allowing people to get sick and seek medical solutions. Arise Walk for Life is #APPOINTEDTOLIVE as the benefits of walking are shown to include reducing stress and anxiety and boosting immunity, amongst many others.

The organisers revealed that Clusters of walking communities have been formed globally to make every step count from a safe distance. She also stated that there are various clusters across the nations from Lagos to Abuja, Uyo Abeokuta, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Akure, West African Coast, United Kingdom, Scotland, United States of America, Asia, Canada and other nations.

The convener of Arise Walk for Life, Dr. Siju Iloyomade, said that the primary goal of organizing the annual event was for the health benefits of all participants. The walk usually starts simultaneously by 7 am local time in all participating countries and Participants are to register their clusters on the Arise Walk website.

Dr. Siju while addressing the press stressed the critical need to keep fit and encourage preventive illnesses instead of a curative approach. She noted that walking helps improve immunity and physical health, adding that participants in this year’s walk stand a chance of winning up to $2,000 for the best cluster.

“At ARISE, we take health very seriously because you need to be in sound health to do anything tangible. The Arise Walk for Life is a place for everyone irrespective of status, tribe, religion, or nationality, it is a place for all”,

She also stated that Arise was an ideology and in a short period, made giant strides in areas of health, women, and community empowerment with a focus on 12 pillars out of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Arise is a humanitarian and charitable organization, which has been a great support system for women, their families, and the community by delivering care to the most vulnerable in society through their mobile clinics – Arise hospitals, as well as the donation of boreholes, medical reliefs and schools to mention a few. ARISE interventions illustrate a long-term growth that has contributed to a wide variety of social outcomes such as good leadership, education, healthcare delivery and economic prosperity in our communities. ARISE remains focused on consistently creating sustainable communities for the future.

The handmaiden’s women in leadership series 2019 hosted by its founder, Dr Siju Iluyomade themed “Leading women building legacies” held its annual conference on Tuesday, 25th June at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.

The event which was attended by over 3000 women lit up the entire space of Eko Hotel, the prestigious venue of the annual gathering. It was an array of many corporate women and female entrepreneurs from all walks of life who came to share experiences, network and lift each other up.

The host of the event is Dr. Siju Iluyomade, a lawyer and co-pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish. The keynote speaker was Prof. Funmi Olopade, a renowned practicing hematology oncologist and cancer geneticist who has had over 35 years’ experience in the medical field.

She is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Centre for global health at the University of Chicago, Illinous. The panelists were leading women such as Prof Sade Ogunsola, Prof Enase Okonedo, Funke Bucknor Obruthe, Cecilia Akintomide, Kofo Akinkugbe, Dorothy Atake, Achenyo Idachaba-Obaro, Adesuwa Onyenokwe, TY Bello and Bolanle Austen -Peters.Ceo of ACTS foundation, Osayi Alile was the moderator. The event was anchored by a Chartered Insurance practitioner, Morin Desalu.

The event commenced with a wake-up call message from the host, Pastor Siju Iluyomade where she charged all women to build lasting legacies. The host state is Lagos State, and the First Lady of Lagos, H.E Dr Ibijoke Sanwoolu attended the event, alongside other state first ladies, first lady of Edo State, H.E Betsy Obaseki and Ogun First Lady, H.E, Bamidele Abiodun and the wife of the new House of Rep Speaker, Salma Gbajabiamila who in turn gave their speeches. Amongst other dignitaries who graced the event was the Iyalode of Lagos, Alhaja Bintu Tinubu and many others.

The Handmaidens Women in Leadership Forum which is a platform for bringing all women together irrespective of their Race, Tribe or Religion was initiated to enlighten and empower them sufficiently to enable them to have the desired impact on the society that they are uniquely crafted to have. The objective is to challenge more women to take on positions of responsibility in line with scriptural principles and ensure they impact their homes, businesses and society positively in growing the nation.

The founder, Dr Siju Iluyomade also used that year’s event to empower 1000 women across the globe through her ARISE Women NGO. She and the keynote speaker along with a panel of leading women in industry, professional practice, business and other diverse fields spent some time sharing their thoughts on important subjects for all women.
