Egbe OBANEYE Okunrin Receives Awujale’s Royal Blessing

There is a new Regberegbe in town, that everyone is talking about right now. Its called Egbe Obaneye (Okunrin) Akile Ijebu. It is one of the age grade groups that got Royal recognition & Traditional Blessing on Sunday 3rd July 2022 from the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, at the Awujale’s Palace. It is a Regberegbe Okunrin Akile of those born in 1983, 1984 and 1985.

The Giwa (President) of the Egbe is Oluwaseye Wasiu Yusuf who was born at the State General Hospital in Ijebu Ode on the 8th of July, 1984. He hails from Igboburo quarters in Ijebu Ode. He was born into the family of Otunba (Giwa) Adesanya Yusuf, the present Otunba Bobaseilu of Ijebuland and Giwa Egbe Bobagunte Okunrin Akile Ijebu and Mrs Ramota Atinuke Yusuf (nee Quadri).

Arole as he is fondly called by friends and associates started his educational journey at Mabunmi Nursery & Primary School, Ijebu-Ode before the family moved to Lagos where he later attended Little Scholar Nursery & Primary, Omole, Ikeja. He proceeded to Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode and Methodist High School, Arigbajo, Ifo for his secondary education.

His University education was at Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye where he studied Economics before proceeding to the prestigious university of first choice University of Lagos (UNILAG) for his Masters Degree.

While he was at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Arole was a prominent member of the Rotaract Club, Olabisi Onabanjo University where he served in various capacity which included Community Service Director, Vice President, President and District 9110 Zonal Representative Lagos & Ogun.

He also represented Rotaractors from Nigeria at the Annual Rotary Convention held in Birmingham, United Kingdom in July 2009 and was privileged to have been part of the speakers at the Annual International Event.

His passion for service culminated in his selection by colleagues to lead the MBA Class for the entire duration of their studentship at the University of Lagos.

Oluwaseye holds a Diploma in Immigration Case Management from Herzing College, Ontario Canada and a Postgraduate Student of Immigration and Citizenship Law, Queen’s University Kingston, Ontario Canada.

His working career started as an Account Trainee at Pagent Hotels & Suites before he was promoted to the post of Head of Operation after learning the ropes in the Hospitality Industry. He later went on to establish

his own firm Official Corporate Service Ltd (A Limited Liability Company with interest in Travels, Agriculture, Fashion and Interior Decorations) which he has since relinquished his portfolio upon picking up a government appointment.

Presently, Arole works with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment with the Labour Inspectorate as a Senior member of staff. Arole has held many positions on the Government team in Industrial Relations matters.

He is widely travelled and has attended quite a number of training and conferences in Ghana, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and France to mention a few. Arole is a quintessential bridge builder; a community servant leader and has over the years earned an unrivalled personality despite his young age.

Arole is a member of the Rotary Club of Egbeda District 9110 Lagos and Ogun.

He is happily married to Kofoworola Yusuf and blessed with glorious kids.

The Baba Egbe is Alhaji Moriwiyu Olukayode Bakare, born on the 21st February 1970 in Lagos to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Musediku Abiodun Bakare of Atiba town in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He attended Sanni Luba Nursery/Primary School, Ijebu-Ode before proceeding to Luba Comprehensive High School, Ijebu-Ode for his college education.

Alhaji M.O. Bakare is an Economics graduate from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University) where he was a Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc Scholar and M.Sc degree in Economics from University of Ibadan, Ibadan 1995.

He also holds ACI Dealing Certificate (Distinction) of the Financial Markets Association, Paris France. He is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB).

An experienced professional with over 20 years experience in Nigerian Banking industry and varied experiences in financial services and academia – market risk management, assets trading (interest rates, fixed income and currencies), global trade as well as treasury and balance sheet management.

He has undertaken several courses on Fixed Income and portfolio management, Bourse Game, Foreign Exchange and Derivatives, Advanced Capital Market program including structured products from reputable institutions such as New York Institute of Finance, USA, Euromoney, CITI Bank and ICAP, South Africa as well as Digital transformation at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland. He facilitates regularly for Financial Institutions Training Center (FITC) On financial markets/product, Treasury management and Treasury risk management.

His professional career has taken him through such institutions like Ogun State University (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago-Iwoye where he was a Lecturer in the Department of Banking & Finance.

He started his Banking career at EcoBank Nigeria Plc where he resigned as Head, Foreign Currency (FCY) Trading having worked in Treasury Group, Strategy and Consumer Banking Group; Diamond Bank Nigeria Plc and Diamond Bank du Republic of Benin (where he was a member of Asset & Liability Management Committee and at various times deputized for the Treasurer.

He was also the pioneer Country Treasurer, (Diamond Bank du Republic of Benin); Societe Generale Nigeria Limited (Now Heritage Bank Nigeria); HSLM Trust & Associates Limited (Investment Holdings & Advisory Services Company) where he served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; United Bank for Africa (UBA); and thereafter Intercontinental Bank Plc ( Now Access Bank of Nigeria) where he was for almost 3 years the Group Executive, Market Risk Management responsible for identifying and managing Interest Rate Risk, Exchange Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk as well as Equity price risk across the group.

Between June 2003 and June 2004, he was the Special Assistant on Economic Affairs to the Executive Governor of Kwara State responsible for Due Process with respect to Contract and essential services pricing.

During his banking career, he serve on various Committee and acquired strong financial/currency analysis and risk management skills from his exposure to multicurrency and multicultural institutions through international trade and finance, asset and liability management, currency trading and money market operations.

Alhaji M.O. Bakare a member of the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938 is presently a General Manager responsible for Treasury & Global Trade Group at Wema Bank Plc.

His interests include Islamic development, financial markets education, community empowerment/development and sports.

The Iya Egbe is Mrs Agbaje Sakirat Ajoke is one of the silent pride of Ijebuland.

She was born into the family of Rufai Oye & Oduwole family on September, 2nd 1971.

She had her secondary education from Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode; her tertiary education from Kaduna State Polytechnics, Kaduna where she studied Secretarial Administration.

Between 2003 and 2005, Ajoke took another giant stride to further her education from the Career Education Institute, Boston, USA where she studied Medical Administration.

She started her professional career as the founder of JK Computer Business Centre at the University of Lagos Campus between 1995 and 2002; thereafter, she worked as a METROBOSTON Programme Medical Manager, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), USA between 2005 and 2009 where she coordinates and assign responsibilities for junior officers; confirm services and consultancy; market products, HealthCare Consultancy etc. Aunty Joke’s entrepreneurship initiative further pushed her to establish her brand in 2010 and is still in operation to date.

The brand is JK Aso-Oke Group of Companies.

To the glory of God, her brand has grown to have subsidiaries namely; JK Aso-Oke Special, JK Bead and Accessories, JK Men Clothing, JK Skin Delight and JK Beauty Couture and Spa, and so many others.

No doubt, Joke is a well informed educated woman and a successful entrepreneur who

derives pleasure in travelling, singing, dancing and to cap it all as a good housewife, cooking.

The Otun Giwa Egbe is Titilope Raheem Gafar. She was born on September 22, 1984. He hails from Imepe quarters in Ijebu Ode. He was born September 22, 1984, in Ijebu-Ode. Titilope Gafar started his formal education at Grace Day Nursery School at Igbeba Ijebu-Ode and from where he proceeded to Oredola Nursery and Primary School, GRA Ijebu-Ode.

He gained admission to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School Ijebu-Ode Ogun State in the year 1994 and finished his secondary education in the year 2000.

His University education was at the University of Agriculture where he graduated with a Second Class Upper degree in Agricultural Economics.

While in the university, he was part of many notable organizations among which is the Junior Chambers International (JCI) where he participated in many leadership training and projects. He had his NYSC year 2010 where he served under Enugu State Teaching Board as Mathematics and Physics teacher.

He started his career working as the Manager, Aquatech Global Farms Ltd in Lagos State. From where he joined Citygate Global Nigeria Limited, a leading Finance house in Nigeria as a Relationship Officer.

He left Citygate Global Nigeria Limited for defunct Diamond Bank Nigeria Plc in July 20B. He had his banking school at Diamond Bank Plc.

Training school in Abuja from where he was posted back to Ijebu-Ode as a MSME Relationship Officer, where he managed a portfolio of Medium Small and Medium businesses.

In his quest for more knowledge, he proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) where he bagged an MBA with a specialization in Human Resource Management in the year 2017.

His core competencies are in the areas of Relationship Management, Credit Analysis and packaging, financial advisory and Trade services.

He left Diamond Bank for Stanbic IBTC Bank, a member of the Standard Bank Group in July 2018 where he held the position of a Business Banker till March 2020.

He was decorated at the Banks Beyond Excellence Award in the year 2019 after making a remarkable performance in Sales and Services.

Today, he holds the position of Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking.

He is the current President of his secondary school Alma Matter group, JOGSOBA 94/2000 set.

The Eta Giwa Egbe is Omoba Aderemi Oluyemisi Adebowale was born on December 5th 1983 to the family of Otunba Ezekiel Adebisi Sunday and Chief Mrs Janet Olufunsho Adebowale.

He hails from Odo-Epe quarters in Ososa, Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State.

He started his primary education at army command nursery and primary school Lafenwa Abeokuta, after the completion of his primary education he proceeded to Ijebu southern district grammar school Ala Ijebu in the year 1994, after he finished his junior secondary school education, he later proceeded to Epe grammar school Epe Lagos State in the year 1997 to 1999 after which he proceeded to Nazareth College Ibonwon, Epe Lagos State to complete his senior secondary education in the year 2000.

He gained admission into the premier university Tai Solarin University of Education in the year 2005 where he studied political science and bagged B.ed pols in the year 2010.

He started his career working as a manager A’s group of companies in Ososa Ijebu, after which he joined premier lottery Nigerian limited as a principal consultant to date.

He is intelligent, highly responsible, a team player par excellence and a great promoter of African tradition.

His native intelligence and a great ability to communicate with every stratum of society has earned him respect and honour within and outside community.

He is a Prince of Oba Gbegande of Ososa from Ladugba ruling house. He is married and blessed with lovely kids.
