A Lawmaker representing Epe Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester has reached out to the muslim community in his constituency in celebration of the Eid-el-fitri.
The Lawmaker gave over 1,500 chickens and 2,000 face masks to constituents in the mood of celebration.
Speaking on the rationale behind this gesture, Hon. Sylvester said that there is need to show love and care to the constituents as it is the main idea behind the period of Ramadan.
He added that the celebration coupled with the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the state specifically and Nigeria generally called for this kind gesture because of its negative impact on the subsistent living of the constituents.
Meanwhile, The Lawmaker urged the constituents and other Muslims in the state to use this opportunity to pray for the country amidst the deadly disease.
Ogunkelu explained that this is necessary because the country and the state are struggling to stand on their feet, praying the almighty Allah will let the phase be bypassed.
