Governor promises to address electricity challenge in Ondo South
The Forum of Former Speakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday declared support for the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, passing a vote of confidence on his leadership.
The former Speakers, who are of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were led on a courtesy visit to the Governor by their Coordinator and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan.
Other former Speakers on the visit included Rt. Hon. Kenneth Olawale, Rt. Hon. Ayo Agbomuserin, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun and Rt. Hon. Malachi Coker.
They expressed confidence in the ability of the Governor to lead and develop the State beyond the end of the current tenure in 2025.
“We believe in your leadership,” remarked the former speakers, emphasizing their commitment to collaborating with the present administration to achieve the desired goals for Ondo State.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support shown by the forum, affirming his commitment to continuing and completing ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the development of the State.
In a related development, the Ilaje Development Summit Group, led by Rev. Sola Adebawo, conveyed their support for the Governor during a courtesy visit on Tuesday.
The delegation emphasized their non-political stance but expressed their sincere confidence in the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, especially as he’s one of their own from Ilaje.
Expressing their commitment to contributing to the growth and development of Ondo State, the group highlighted critical challenges facing the Ilaje populace, including the lack of access to electricity, shortage of school teachers, and healthcare deficiencies.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the group’s show of solidarity and support, assuring them of giving the needed and timely attention to the issues raised.
Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the delegation of his commitment to addressing the electricity crisis in Ilaje, promising to expedite action on the matter.
The Governor disclosed that efforts were already underway to address the shortage of teachers and improve the healthcare sector by integrating it into the civil service for sustained government support.
Those at the meetings included the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi and
the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa.
