Music stars, Adekunle Gold and Simi are married. And that is official. Recall, this medium broke the news that the wedding will take place in January and yes, it surely took place.
The private wedding which was kept away from the public took place on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 and it was done in such secrecy that hardly were guests allowed to take pictures at the wedding venue. Their secret wedding has elicited several reactions from Nigerians especially their fans, wondering why they decided to keep the wedding private.

Simi and Adekunle Gold have shown times without number that they are close and many of their fans have always insinuated that there exists a close relationship between them due to their closeness and many romantic photos they post on their social media pages and they have finally cleared all doubts as they took the second step into their marital journey
The traditional wedding started at about 1.45pm and many guests were already on seat. The wedding which was strictly for 300 guests took place at the Naval Dock Yard Event Center, Victoria Island. They chose this venue because of the maximum security they needed in order for their photos not to be leaked out. They also catered for 300 guests only and guests are not allowed to even eat twice due to the minimum guests catered for.

The event planner for the wedding was Mimi Luxe Events led by its creative director, Michelle. To gain entrance into the wedding venue, phones were dropped by the entrance to ascertain that no photos will be leaked out. The official Dj of the wedding, DJ Spinall dished out random set of music which was danced to at the after party of the wedding. The engagement proper was anchored by 2 popular engagement anchors who introduced both families to one another. On the band stand was De Eminent Band who dished out melodious naija songs. The band was led by Aighokan Ayomikun Martins, he is one of the wave making bands in Lagos. The chops factory supplied the yummy small chops. Drinks were served by Drinks and Cocktail who also provided the mobile bar. There were over 20 bouncers on ground to make sure everything about the wedding remained coded. Black and knights perfection was in charge of securities.
For their after party, the wedding changed into a wine aso oke sewn into lovely styles and they did their first dance as a couple afterward. One of the major highlights of the wedding was when Adekunle Gold was about to engage his wife, Simi with a ring, he composed and dedicated a beautiful song to her, one of his hits songs, ‘’ORENTE’’ and changed the title to ‘’SIMI ORENTE’’. This got many applaud from the guests as they stood up to sing along with him as he presented the engagement ring to her.
Top music stars graced the wedding and sighted were Grooms best friend, Falz, YBNL Boss, Olamide who came in at about 6.30pm, Mr Eazi and Popular OAP, Dotun Omosan, Praize were also there. The kosoko family led by Jide Kosoko was at the wedding with his daughter, Bidemi Kosoko. It was gathered that Jide Kosoko and the grooms father are families. The parents of the couple were the happiest as they witnessed their children’s day of joy. Simi and Adekunle’s mum looked beautiful in their purple all stoned Aso Oke while their fathers looked dapper in Lilac Atiku outfit.
Adekunle Gold’s dad, Mr Kosoko is the Tutor General/Perm Secretary in Lagos State. He has both served in government and other schools as either a teacher or principal and won over 30 awards for his selfless Service to the state. He had his first degree at University of Benin and graduated as the best in his class with a distinction in Fine Arts Painting and Graphics major. He was part of the team that co-wrote the module for teachers at one time.
Their love story dated many years back. At the beginning of their career, the two kept their brands separate and were hardly photographed together. Given the heavy spotlight on celebrity couples, this decision paid off for Simi and her boo as they were able to build their careers outside the spotlight. Although they tried their best to keep their love life private, their fans waited impatiently for them to go public as a couple until they could not keep it to themselves any longer.
Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, is a well-known singer and songwriter, who occasionally dabbles in graphic design like his Dad. He is from the kosoko royal family of Lagos. He is the only son and has 3 sisters. born on January 28, 1987 in Lagos, he studied Arts and Design at the Lagos State Polytechnic. His fame came after he posted a cover of a popular song called ‘Story of My Life’ (by One Direction). The video of his hit song, ‘Sade’, got over 1million views on his official YouTube channel. After dropping out of YBNL Nation, Adekunle announced that he has a band called ‘The 79th element’. The name is an homage to his pseudonym, as gold is 79th in the periodic table. Adekunle Gold biography would not be complete without the fact that his debut album Gold has reached 7th place on the Billboard chart. It is a very impressive achievement for someone who is rather new to the music industry. While Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, more popularly called Simi, is a famous Nigerian singer, songwriter and sound engineer, she was born on April 19, 1988 in Lagos. She has three older siblings. Her mum is Jedidiah Ogunleye who remarried just exactly one year ago. She is a Daystar church member. Her parents separated when she was nine. She studied Mass Communication at Covenant University and her first album called Ogaju came out in 2006. She works under the X3M Music label. Simi’s music won her several awards and nominations, including Best Female Artist and Best Female Vocal Performance in 2016.She is not only a talented music artist, but also a gifted sound engineer. She helped Adekunle Gold produce his debut album. We wish them happy married life.
