The president of Fertility Awareness Advocacy Initiative popularly known as FAAI, Kesena Igben and a few of his executives, last Thursday, March 14th, 2024, revealed the many plans of the NGO for the year.

Fertility Awareness Advocacy Initiative is a foremost support group that provides fertility challenged Nigerians with support, information, and education. It provides a platform for women and men experiencing infertility to connect with one another, to discuss their situations and to receive support from others who have had similar experiences or who are struggling with similar issues.

The new executives of FAAI led by Igben got into office a few months ago. After their inauguration, They have hit the ground running, leaving no stone unturned towards educating members of the public about fertility related issues and how best to seek solutions. They are working tirelessly in making sure they create adequate awareness and support for couples facing fertility challenges.

They have no doubt carefully mapped out strategies on how best to the best results during the course of the year.  The president of FAAI told members of the press during a media event what they have in stock and how they intend to achieve their goals for the year.

He laid emphasis on the major focus of FAAI which is to increase the level of awareness on how to address fertility related issues. Igben said FAAI is passionate about demystifying the many misconceptions and myths people attach to the inability for couples to have children.

He added that by increasing the level of awareness in Nigeria, FAAI would be embarking on a lot of programmes and initiatives through various media platforms. He said they would be holding several symposia, Talk Shows on TV, and social media platforms.

He therefore reiterated FAAI’s commitment by describing some of their moves to ensure more success is achieved in 2024. According to him, he said FAAI has plan of building a top notch studio where it would conduct interviews and hold webinars, seek more media support in coverage and reportage of their programmes, organise FAAI fare periodically, as well as visit many religious houses and notable community development associations to make sure more people get the message of FAAI.

Giving credence to the President, The Vice President of FAAI, Lilian Patrick talked about how the society out of ignorance debar couples having fertility issues to come out and seek necessary medical interventions and support. She said FAAI is fully out to sensitize the public, particularly waiting couples, making them realise the easy means of seeking solutions.

Also speaking was the Secretary of FAAI, Victoria. She talked about the readiness of FAAI to take the bull by its horns in hunting for those having fertility challenges, not wait for them to come over. He said FAAI would also be distributing flyers at public places such as shopping malls, churches, mosques, event centres and other places where people are highly concentrated. She said they are out to debunk some of the myths the society has ascribed to infertility
