West Ham manager David Moyes has been asked about his reaction to the news that some the club’s fans did not want him to become the manager.
He said: “I was a little surprised when I heard it. I want the fans behind us and to give us the best chance of winning. We all have to be together.
“A win would be great and we need that. We have fixtures coming up that will be more difficult, winning changes how your week looks and how you go about the week.”
Moyes faces his first home game as West Ham boss when they entertain Leicester tomorrow.
It was not the best of starts for Moyes, with his side losing 2-0 at Watford on Sunday.
“We analysed the game, there were a lot of good things in the game and things we can say ‘that was better’, we passed it more and ran more – we have to look at the positives,” says Moyes.
“I’ve only had one game with them, we do have players with big reputations and I’m looking for big performances.”
