It was an evening that was aptly captured as a cultural night. Food, dances and music from all.corner of Nigeria were in abundance. Nigerians from all walks of life came to celebrate with Aisha Babangida, the chief hostess as she sent forth her sister.
Though her mother Matyam was no more, it is debatable whether she could.have done better. The Babangida pulled all the strings , spared no expense to ensure that everyone who came has a good story to go home with as she hosted them to a mother’s night in honour if her younger sister who is getting married.
Present at the event were four former First ladies, including Mrs Aguyi Ironsi, Ajoke Mohammed,Turai Yar Adua and Fati Abdusalami Abubakar.
Others included first ladies of Kebbi, Kaduna, Niger states while Africa’s richest woman, Folorunso Alakija was around with Bola Shagaya, and other celebrities. Musical groups from all the six geopolitical zones of the country performed to the delight of all those who came while Simbobo, the exotic northern dance group continued to be the main act as they stole the show again.
The highlight of the event however was the provision of food from all sections of Nigeria both inside and outside of the venue so that guests could eat o their fill. As at 3.:00 am people were still sampling foods from other parts of Nigeria.
