She has over time hosted some of the biggest fashion shows in Nigeria that was massively attended by the crème de la crème of the society, where she showcased different collections of quality fabrics and designs. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Regalia by Fal, a fashion outfit that is globally recognized for her exclusive and unique designs of ready to wear jumpsuits, tops, to mention but a few. Fashion icon, Funmi Ajila Ladipo played host to over 50 celeb women at the unveiling of her 2 in 1 event on the 12th day of January 2020. It was the unveiling of the off-the-rack and ready-to-wear lines named Salewa & Ajila by her daughter Salewa and her own brand Regalia by Fal. The Kona Recreation Hub freedom way Lekki phase1 was filled with dignitaries who came to network and shop for exclusive outfits and designs by Funmi Ajila Ladipo and her daughter Salewa.
The First lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, was gorgeously dressed in a luxury fabric with a headgear. She talked about Regalia by Fal as a brand that has been known for excellence and exceptional designs that will compete with international standards. She commented that she has known the creative director of Regalia by Fal for years and her consistency and commitment to the fashion industry is commendable. She also mentioned that Funmi Ajila’s personality comes to play on her designs as a very detailed person and she has been able to contribute so much to Fadan as their President.
Shola Allyson Obaniyi, a multi-talented and versatile singer cum songwriter who came to limelight with her debut album Eji Owuro was the compere of the event. She thrilled the guests with her sonorous voice and the first lady of Ekiti State Erelu Bisi Adeleye Fayemi could only ask for more. She communicated very well with the guests as she took them through the journey of exploring the several collections from the stable of Regalia by Fal and Salewa & Ajila.
Dame Abimbola Fashola, the former first lady of Lagos State (May 2007- May 2015) spoke about the comfortability in Regalia by Fal collection. She mentioned that her unique designs are very comfortable, stylish and decent. The beautiful wife of Babatunde Raji Fashola Federal Minister of Works and Housing mentioned that the combination of colour and African print goes a long way to promote our heritage as Nigerians and as Africans.
Abike Dabiri Erewa, Chairman of House Committee on Media publicity and former member of the Nigeria Federal House of Representatives representing, Ikorodu stormed the event looking gorgeous in a red flowing dress. She took some pictures with Funmi Ajila and daughter before proceeding to speak on Regalia by Fal and Salewa & Ajila fashion outfit. She mentioned that Funmi Ajila is known for the best quality designs and she has maintained that honour for about 3 decades.
Aralola Olamuyiwa popularly known as “Ara” is an icon in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. She is known as the No 1 female talking drummer in Nigeria. Her long braids will always make her stand out from the crowd. She spoke on reasons why she loves designs by Funmi Ajila and one important fact is that her ready-to-wear brings about freedom. She said her designs are stylish, fitting but not too clingy to the body.
Nneka Moses, a co-presenter of award-winning African tourism and cultural programme GOGE Africa stormed the event with her husband Isaac Moses. She was of the opinion that Regalia by Fal and Salewa & Ajila Collection would promote African culture across the globe and she is happy to be part of it. The star-studded event rounded off with photo-session, networking, cocktail and shopping.
