Saturday 15th February, 2020 will remain a memorable day for the family of the beautiful wife of General Oladipo Diya as his eldest wife, Otunba Josephine Onoimiuko Diya celebrate her 70th birthday in grand style. The classy event started with a church programme which took place at their family church, United African Methodist Church Cathedral, Abule Ijesha Yaba, Lagos.
She gathered friends and family to come celebrate with her as she clocked 70th.
The thanksgiving service was titled with so much joy as she appreciated God for sparing her life. She was so happy as she danced with her children, grandchildren and her lovely husband. The celebrant who was gorgeously dressed in a green sequenced lace looked 20 years younger than her real age. One would have thought she just clocked 50 because she was looking so pretty and very healthy. She combined are beautiful green sequenced lace with a green laser cut gele which was fully embellished with crystal stones, beads and other beautifying elements.
What about her beautiful jewellery, she rocked a lovely coral bead mixed with 18karat gold. And she complemented her outfit with a matching shoe and bag. Her husband, Gen Oladipo Diya rocked a white Agbada which was beautifully styled in one of the lastest design. Her children and grandchildren were also not left out. The grand reception took place at Victory Arena, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja.
The Diya family left no stone unturned to make sure the event was successful and we can categorically tell you that the event was one of its kind.
The party was a show of class and wealth. The huge and prestigious event centre wasn’t filled with crowd but prominent and important personalities from different part of the world. Some flew in from the U.K. and U.S. to celebrate this beautiful woman.
The reception program which lasted for 4 hours started with an opening prayer by Bishop O.A. Timothy. Shortly after the prayer, the beautiful, ageless and energetic celebrant was brought into reception venue in a white Lamborghini and everybody couldn’t help but admire her as she steps out of the car with her lovely husband by her side. She stormed the event all with so much joy written all over her face. She was accompanied by some cultural groups that came all the way from Edo State as she is also a native of Edo State.
They sang a different song in their dialect and she danced with so much energy. Like we said earlier, she looks 20 years younger than her real age. One would have thought she just clocked 50, she is blessed with lovely and glowing skin.
After the arrival of the celebrant, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Abiodun Shobanjo gave a wonderful and very touching speech. He started by appreciating everyone present and he prayed that they will all have reasons to be celebrated. He continued his speech by saying wonderful things about the celebrant. He called her a virtuous woman, very humble and easy-going.
He also mentioned that there is no way you will meet her and not love her because she is nice to a fault. Also in his speech, he mentioned how he became friends with the celebrities husband, Gen. Oladipo Diya 62 years. He also said he has known Josephine for 45 years even before she got married to his lovely friend. He further described her as a very supportive wife, despite all the challenges and tribulations they went through, she still stood by her husband. After the Chairman’s speech, Dr. Tunde Diya and Dr. Bolanle Ebalene also said beautiful things about their mother. They shared all the beautiful moment they had with their mother while growing up and how she has been support till date.
The cutting of the cake was conducted by the Chairman of the occasion Mr. Biodun Shobanjo.
Did we forget to tell you about the celebrant second outfit? It was extremely beautiful. She rocked a multi-coloured sequence gown with a beautiful set of jewellery. Her hair was properly packed and she looked like a new bride.
