Digital solutions provider, Globacom, has unveiled a pre-paid offer, Borrow for others, which allows a subscriber to borrow airtime and data for their friends, associates and family members.
In a press statement in Lagos, Globacom said, “With Borrow for Others, a pre-paid subscriber can borrow any denomination of airtime or data on behalf of another subscriber. However, such a borrower must have been a loyal and consistent subscriber on the network for at least 3 months”.
It stated that a borrower is expected to pay back on his or her next recharge within a given period or by dialing *321*9*9#, adding that such a borrower is expected to have a good credit history on the Glo network.
To enjoy the service, Globacom said subscribers will dial *777# or *321# or access the service online after which the amount they wish to borrow on behalf of another subscriber will be indicated. “For instance, a subscriber who wants to borrow N25 airtime is required to dial *321#, choose option 4 “Borrow Credit for Others” to select the required denomination”, the company explained.
For those borrowing data, the borrower will dial *321# and select option 5 “Borrow Data for Others” before choosing the appropriate data pack that they are qualified for.
“The data borrowed can be used to browse the internet as the subscriber desires, while borrowed airtime can be used to call other networks or make international calls”, Globacom concluded.
