Ifemide is a popular Gospel musician, Songwriter, Psalmist, and a multi-instrumentalist. She hit the limelight as a Gospel singer under the management of the late Prophet Ajanaku who promoted her music. Late Prophet Ajanaku discovered her and predicted that she was destined to make it, musically. And of course, she did and became one of the best in the country.
Ifemide performs at several shows. And her music is in high demand. But for a while, she has been under the radar and people keep asking when her album is going to be dropped. A few days back, this pretty lady spoke to City People Magazine Journalist, Benprince Ezeh (08068599897), she explained why her album is yet to drop and also promised that it would soon be released. Here are excerpts of the interview.
For a while, many people have been asking that they barely hear Ifemide sing, how has it been for you?
It’s been amazing, I have been doing well on my own lane, trying to do projects and do the right thing, reach out to more people, I have found a new ministry so now I do so much of hymns, I combine old hymns trying to bring the old way and the new way of worshipping to our society. I have been doing so much of that now and so far I have met with so many people.
Let me ask you; does this mean you kind of own a studio now and you sign up people for music?
No! No!!, I do not sign people up I don’t have a record label now. I have been concentrating on my music, you know you just have to have time to do what you need to do next, you have to advance. There must be a level of progress in anything you do. Why am I alive if I can’t think outside the box, what more can I do, what more can people hear from me that would make me a source of great progress in their lives? So I have been concentrating so much of my energy on my music
Okay, are we expecting an album or single, and when will that be?
Sure, very soon, I have so much, I have about 5 new albums now streaming on all digital platforms, just like I said it’s something I just got like a conviction, so I’m putting so much into the music and I’m trying to do that very well. I’m trying to make people have them on CDs and all of that.
So when are we expecting it to be available on CDs?
Yeah, very soon, we already have them on all digital platforms already, so we would definitely have them on CDs asap because we have the compilations, and we have 5 new albums already but we want to do more and we would be able to pick off from the ones we have on the digital store.
When was your last album?
My last album was done last year because the present society really would want stuff on digital stores, but most of us that do drive use CDs but I release singles almost all the time.
That means the online fetches more rewards than the CDs?
Yeah, and apart from it fetching more it gives you the opportunity to reach the world with just a fingertip than CDs because I probably need someone who is traveling to the US to take those CDs along but now if I have my songs online I can just copy the link to somebody at the US or post it online for people to access all over the world, the digital store gives me more opportunities to project even from the comfort of your home.
What are your messages to your fans that really want to see you?
I want to say thank you so much for always rooting for me and by the grace of God we would do our best to be a blessing as long as God enables us.
