While speaking in exclusive interview with The Independent, Honourable Segun Olulade, lawmaker representing Epe constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, warned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu to steer clear of Lagos if he does not want to incur the wrath of Lagosians and the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
The IPOB leader has earlier vowed to take his protest to Lagos, Nigeria’s economic and commercial capital and shut down the state in his bid to draw support for the actualization of Biafra republic.
Speaking in a chat on Monday, Olulade, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health Services, said Governor Ambode and Lagosians will not fold their hands and allow anyone disturb the peace that is enjoyed by residents in the state.
He said; “I think as a state, we will be ready to curtail any act of insecurity in Lagos state. We will not fold our hands and allow anybody to cause crisis and breakdown of law and order in the state.
“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will deal decisively with anyone threatening to shut down the state. If any fellow is threatening to shut down our state, he should go back to where he is coming from. He is not welcome in Lagos state. Lagosians will resist it.
“The government of Lagos will resist it and we will ensure that nobody truncates the peace we enjoy in Lagos. I see his threat to hold a rally and shut down Lagos state as an empty threat. Lagos is not like any other state.”
