Guess what Gov. Ibikunle Amosun would most likely give himself as a 60th birthday gift? A car? An SUV? A jeep? A trip abroad? Nooo! Its a befitting mansion in Abeokuta, GRA. Its no longer news that Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun turned 60 a few days ago and he had a classy celebration in Abeokuta to mark it. There was a prayer session. And of course a Birthday celebration followed among other events.

Unknown to many, Gov. Amosun gave himself a befitting 60th birthday gift – a brand new house, tucked inside Ibara housing Estate, Abeokuta. Gov. Amosun started planning for his 60th birthday about 3years ago when he began work on his magnificent dream house.

He demolished his old house on the same site and expanded the land space by buying off a few adjoining houses in the area to create a massive compound for the new mansion.
When the Governor celebrated his 60th birthday a week ago, he opened the gates of the mansion for guests to come in for prayers to celebrate his 60th birthday at his new mansion. At the early hours of his birthday, prayer was held at the mansion and the mansion serves as a birthday gift to him.

The new mansion comprises of a 2-storey mansion with an underground, bullet-proof banquet hall that can sit 350 people and a car park that can accommodate 50 cars.

The mansion is located where the upper crusts of the society in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, have their homes. The mansion was built a by leading Italian construction company, Monterosa, a company regarded as one of the most experienced building construction companies in the country.

Governor Amosun compelled the builder to complete the mansion in record time to mark his birthday. This made the builders to intensify their efforts, working day and night on the imposing white mansion.
The mansion is Gov. Amosun’s dream house, and a statement in fine taste. It has an underground car park that can accommodate about 50 cars.

Windows and doors in the house, are fitted with bullet proof materials that are so uniquely constructed, leaving privileged visitors to the property flabbergasted. It has every appliance imported from France, Dubai, Italy or Germany.

Anyone familiar with the old house of the Governor before it was demolished will be overwhelmed with the newly built mansion, although it was not as big as what it is now, but some houses beside the old building were bought in order for the Governor to achieve his dream mansion, a safe and conducive place for him to live after his tenure as the Governor of Ogun State.

More than 2,000 guests were present for the prayer and everyone seated comfortably.
