The development came as hoodlums attacked all the billboards and posters of Gboyega Isiaka Nasir situated in Shagamu area of the state.
The rampaging thugs, numbering over 100, allegedly attacked Arc. Ranti resident, and vandalised all the vehicles in his residence, numbering about 8.
According to eye witness, the attack seemed to be a continuation of the violence that broke out on Sunday at Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s thanksgiving service, when gun-wielding thugs attempted to disrupt the event where 3 of the governorship candidates are in one building.
Speaking with our correspondent on phone, Oresile, confirmed the attack on his residence, stating that he was lucky to escape death by a whisker.
The 52-year-old leader, said: “Over 100 hoodlums stormed my residence on Thursday morning and destroyed my property and my buses.
“They are still milling around my house and the town as I speak”, he added.
Oresile later told our correspondent that policemen had taken him into protective custody apparently to forestall violence.
It was also reliably gathered that men of the Nigerian Army were drafted to quell the violence in Ifo also following attack on GNI’s posters and restore normalcy to the area.
In Abeokuta, a detachment of policemen with armoured personnel carrier embarked on show of force in various parts of the state capital apparently to warn trouble makers.
At Odogbolu, unknown persons were said to have inscribed abusive graffiti on the wall, and destroyed all the posters and billboards that projects the ADC candidate, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and his deputy, Bisi Okeowo-Bolade.
Reacting to the incident, the deputy gubernatorial aspirant urged her relations and supporters to remain calm and not to take the laws into their hands. Bisi Okeowo-Bolade said she wondered why anybody would want to attack her relations for any sane reason. The state Police Public Relations Officer,, who confirmed the incident said the command had commenced investigation into the matter with a view to unraveling the identities of the invaders and bringing them to book.
