Oil magnate, Hajia Bola Shagaya has been in a happy mood in the last 8 weeks. This is because she has celebrated the weddings of her 2 sons, back- to-back.
In March this year, her son, Seun Bakare got married to VP Osinbajo’s daughter, Dami in a very classy but private wedding in Abuja. 6 weeks after, another son, Kabir also got married to Amina Buba, a northern billionaire’s daughter. It was an event that had all the trappings of high society. It was a show of Class, Status, Money and Affluence as topnotch dignitaries from all walks of life stormed the wedding. They include President Muhammadu Buhari who came for the Osinbajo/Shagaya wedding in Abuja.
According to many people, it is only Hajia Shagaya that can pull this VIPs together because she has maintained her high profile social status over the years. We can’t forget in a hurry ,10 years ago when her 1st son Sheriff got married to Bamanga Tukur’s daughter at an elaborate and expensive wedding. It was one wedding that gulped millions of naira. This is what Hajia Bola Shagaya replicated at Kabir and Amina’s wedding.
The wedding which trended on social media had its Instagram hash tag as #theminkaswedding. The first phase of the wedding Fathia took place on Thursday, 26 April, 2018, with the Kamu Ceremony in Abuja. It was well attended by many dignitaries. The grand finale took place in Lagos on Saturday, May 5th at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island. It was an event that brought Northern bigwigs to Lagos because of the high profile status of the bride’s family. They are from Nasarawa State. Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo who is also an in-law to the Shagayas and the Emir of Kano attended. Hajia Bola Shagaya scored another high point on this wedding because it brought together a mix of top celebrity women who have not gathered together under one roof in recent times.
Why? Because Hajia Bola Shagaya is a lover of most of her friends and supports them at any of their events. She also has many friends across the all geopolitical zones. Hajia Bola Shagaya has been on the social radar for over 30 years and she has remained a formidable force to reckon with, within the corridors of power so much so that they conferred on her the time  Member of the order of Niger, MON award. Known for her impeccable style, Hajia Bola Shagaya does not do things in half measures.

At her son, Kabir’s wedding, what did she wear? She wore a Blue Diamond set which cost about 50,000 dollars. That is 17million in naira. Coloured diamonds are extremely rare and very expensive more than white diamonds.
At the Kamu wedding in Abuja, she was sighted wearing a pink diamond set. She was also seen wearing a ruby diamond jewelry for her son, Seun Bakare’s wedding last March. All these don’t come cheap. Hajia Bola Shagaya surely stole the show at her son’s wedding. When someone like her is having an event, you can be sure her friends of her calibre will storm the party, not only storming the party, they will wear luxury diamond pieces which do most of the talking. Popularly called Queen of Blings, Senator Daisy Danjuma is one of the closest friends of Hajia Bola Shagaya. Often times she has been seen in different diamond jewelries.

The pretty mother of the bride, Hajia Hanatu Buba who is also an Oil magnate went modest with just a stud mix of white diamond earrings. Her Excellency, Toyin Saraki, wife of Senate President, Bukola Saraki was also spotted in a white diamond. Erelu Ojuolape Ojora does not settle for less. Northern beauty, Mrs Goje looked fabulous in her style of blouse and wrapper purple lace and pieced her outfit with a white diamond earring and a lovely brooch, former Skye bank chairman’s wife, Biola Ayeni was also spotted. The richest woman in Africa, Folorunsho Alakija who rarely wears aso ebi chose to wear a lemon lace and purple headgear then spiced it up with a white diamond. Society matriarchs, Chief (Mrs) Maiden Ibru, and Hajia Abba Folawiyo were not left out with their unique studs. Queen of style, Nkiru Anumudu made it. She is one of the closest people to Hajia Bola Shagaya. She wore a multi-coloured jewelry.
Also Chief Mrs Bisi Abiola, and Mrs Biola Awotedun also wore dazzling earrings. The 3 Dangote daughters and their mum, were there and what do you expect. They are equally lovers of exquisite diamonds. The Shagaya wives were not left out, Lagos society woman, Funmi Goka rocked a white diamond earring, while the duo of famous educationists, Yoyin Makanjuola and Folake Abdulrasaq’s jewelry cannot be passed by.
The lovely wife of Gilbratar boss, Chief Olu Okeowo’s Ajoke Okeowo looked ravishing in her diamonds. What of Hajia Bola Shagaya close friend, Sheri Williams? and Ireti Asemota, their neck dazzled. In this class is also Olori Abimbola Balogun, she settled for a beautiful colour stoned diamond. There were other women too.
