He is a graduate of Economics from the renowned University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria with notable alumni such as the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a previous Miss World.
Mr. Nyong also holds a Doctorate degree in real estate from the European American University in Ghana in recognition of his contributions to the growth and development of the African Real Estate sector.
Mr. Nyong has numerous successful and profitable business enterprises he has set up and he is on the board of several of these,in an advisory and non-executive capacity.
He has always believed in the potentials of the Nigerian and African real estate sector due to the fact that housing satisfies one of the most basic of human needs, which is the need for shelter. He has over a decade’s experience in the African real estate industry commencing from consulting and advisory to land sales and finally property development, sales and management under the highly successful flagship brand – Lekki Gardens Estate Limited, a brand he established in 2011 which he plans to take public within the next few years.
Richard is a philanthropist and sponsor of several community and social developmental initiatives including the provision of employment to approximately 10,000 people across his various projects in Nigeria and of infrastructure, power and water to the neighbouring communities adjoining his various projects and developments.
He is an authority on the Nigerian real estate market and has been featured on several occasions in this regard by CNBC Africa, Business Day, Nigeria and other well-known internationally recognized and accepted media.
Lekki Gardens Estate Limited and its various subsidiaries,and affiliates have done projects and estates currently totalling 51, including the Horizon estates; Banana Paradise, Life camp and Games Paradise, Ikeja, Ikoyi and Port Harcourt Gardens, under his leadership and they have received several awards and accolades for their aesthetics, contemporary, forward looking, yet environmentally and pocket friendly designs.
