How 5 BIG Parties Were Postponed Because Of #EndSARS Protest

The peaceful protest by the Nigerian Youth, which started with the demand for disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit, as well as, other reforms in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has gone messy, no doubt. The effect it has on Nigerian economy and some social gatherings couldn’t be overlooked.

What started out as a peaceful demonstration by millions of youths, degenerated into chaos after the protests were hijacked by hoodlums.

The hijacked protests, which were characterized by the heavy presence of security personnel on the streets of Lagos, mob attacks on security personnel, killings, and vandalization of public and private properties had made many celebrities cancel their parties, while those who didn’t cancel postponed and fixed new dates.

Many big parties which ought to have been held before April were first postponed owing to COVID-19 pandemic and while many were happy that party would soon kick off, the Endsars Protest started and it made many big celebrities to call off their parties.

Few of the reasons some celebrities had to postpone their events or shift them forward was owing to the unrest and high traffic rate along major street in town.

In case you don’t know, postponing parties or picking a new date comes with additional cost. Not only was millions of Naira wasted as many top vendors who were already paid had to collect additional money for debts incurred if new date is fixed or picked.

Did you ask why they have to pay additional money? When vendors are paid and event get postponed, owing to unseen circumstances, some vendors take more percent as charges while some musicians who have been formerly paid, have to give their clients new dates because the dates must have been fixed for another client.

What are the 5 parties postponed? One of the big party postponed in Lagos is Mrs Funmilayo Sobowale 70th birthday, which will take place in Lagos. Mrs Funmikayo is the pretty mum of Popular Lagos celebrity babe, Lara of Lardiva Clothings in Lagos. The black and baby pink-themed party was initially slated for October 25th, but it has since been postponed. Don’t forget that beautiful Lara is one of the closest friends of Doyin Akknroola, the brain behind Doyin Sweeet Fabrics. The party promised to parade many beautiful Lagos stylish babes. Many top celebrity vendors have already been paid to cater at the birthday. The party is no kid’s party and many were looking forward to the big day.

Lagos society woman, Mrs. Lola Aiyegbo, the brain behind Labiss Textile is leading over 500 society women to Ibadan for her late mum burial. The event which was first stated for 25th of October has now been shifted to November 14th, 2020. The late madam Olayinka Francesca, who died over 4 months ago, was supposed to be buried a few weeks ago, but the EndSars protest couldn’t allow it to be. As you are reading this, Labiss will be literally down Ibadan in November for her mums burial. King of beat, KSA, will be on the band stand to serenade guests.

Do you know that popular Lagos society woman, Alhaja Amoke Odukoya, who was supposed to play host to the creme-de_la_creme of Lagos social establishment on October 20th, 2020 as her husband turns 60 couldn’t hold it? owing to EndsSars protest. She has since shifted the event to November, 2020. Alhaja Amoke runs a Luxury Hotel in Lagos and her husband, Alhaji Odukoya is one of the popular white House Gent Social club members. The event will parade many prominent Lagos socialites like Alhaji Sakiru Atoyegbe and many others.

London Socialite, Mrs. Yetunde Abiola, is now in Nigeria to literally shut down Ibeju Lekki for her late mum’s burial. The talk of town burial was supposed to take place on 24th of October, but it was shifted, owing to Endsars protest. The burial of Mrs. Bolanle Oluwatoyin will now kick off on November 31st, 2020 in Ibeju Lekki. Mama’s remains were deposited at TOS Funeral home before she would make her final journey home.
