On Thursday, 6th and Friday, 7th May, 2021, family members, friends and well-wishers of Olatise family in Aisegba, Ekiti gathered to celebrate the life and times of the late Chief Benjamin Adeniyi Olatise, a former Commissioner of Police and Mayegun of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Aisegba, Ekiti. The ex-top cop slept in the Lord at age 83. The event was attended by 2 governors, and many celebrity big boys and babes. The wake took place on Thursday at his residence in Aisegba, Ekiti and a Church Service was held on Friday, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Aisegba, Ekiti. A classy reception immediately followed. ANGLICAN CHURCH Takes OVER FUNERAL
Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Holy Trinity Anglican Church Aisegba Ekiti was in charge of the funeral service for Pa Adeniyi Olatise. He was a staunch Member of Anglican Church till he died. He was the Mayegun of the church, Holy Trinity, and no wonder many highly placed members of the church came out to give him the departing respect. The church service started at 11am, and different ministers of God, who participated in the order of service didn’t also forget they were the ones who handled the Christian wake as well.

Among the dignitaries seen at the church were the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the Governor of Abia State. According to them they came to honour Chief Benjamin Adeniyi Olatise because of their cordial relationship with one of the sons of the deceased, Dr Olatise.
HOW BABA’S CHILDREN STOOD OUT
All of Baba’s children were at the party. They were led by his only surviving wife, Chief (Mrs) Olatise. All the Olatise’s children were up and doing at the event. They all made sure that all their guests enjoyed every moment spent with them. There were enough different kinds of foods and drinks to go round.
THE MANY ROLES OF NIGERIA POLICE TO HONOUR THEIR LATE BOSS
You need no one to tell you that Chief Olatise was a man of honour, not only in his family circuit, but also in the wider society. Aside from providing good security for all the guests, the Police were also involved in other activities to make the day a memorable one. They were on the band stand at the wake. They played for a while before the commencement of the Christian wake. They also displayed the corpse in a parade before the commencement of the burial service.
2 KINGS ON THE BAND STAND
The final burial of Chief Olatise would sure remain one of its kind, and definitely the memory would linger on for a while. The party played host to 2 giant musicians to play at a party which made it a big deal and one of its kind. King Sunny Ade and King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal dazzled everyone with their performances. Contrary to many people’s thinking of rivalry when the news broke; that the 2 Kings will be performing at a party, the same day, same venue, for the same event guests, it was a peaceful outing, which could be rated best so far. Everyone believed King Sunny Ade and King Wasiu Ayinde were never close and were expectant of A drama. it was so surprising at the end of the day that everything went peacefully. King Sunny Ade started and performed for more than 3hours before King Wasiu Ayinde took over.
