Since the travails of PDP chieftain, Chief Bode George, a few years back all has not been well between him and the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Repeatedly, Chief Bode George has alleged that Asiwaju hard a hand in the case that got him imprisoned. But a few months back, both of them met at a function and they greeted, heralding the end to their strained relationship.
Last week, Chief Bode George told City People that truly he greeted Asiwaju at a function on the promptings of some South-West politicians.
He said he has forgiven him as Christian and has left Asiwaju to God.
What is his relationship like with Asiwaju we asked Chief Bode George. “I have nothing against him as a person. That is the truth. I mean Bola to Bode. When he sees me, he greets me, I greet him. But I don’t like his methodology, his policies, his style, the way he controls Lagos. He is not my bosom friend, but we are not enemies.
I have forgiven him for what he did. I have forgiven that young man Justice Oyewole. There is another Justice. I have forgiven them because vengeance is not mine The Almighty will take care of everybody.
But you cannot forget history, otherwise, you will repeat the mistakes in future.
All these issues will be there clear cut in my memoirs. It was a deliberate attempt to containerise me. It was what one of my friends called a Convoluted Conspiracy. But here I am today in the hands of the Almighty God. I am still alive.
What happened was that it was in Ibadan that my brother, Ajimobi.
He said Egbon you didn’t greet our Governor. I said who is the Governor? He is your Governor, not mine. He said noo. You must greet him. And then, my friend, Oba Otudeko, they all came around and said to me please greet. So, I did. Why I didn’t want to is because what they did was despicable absolutely despicable. You guys have known me, way back. My needs are minimal. It is from my office to my house, occasionally I join friends to do socials. I was born and bred here. And I have made friends all over this country.
