How I Combine My Libido Business With Selling Fabrics – Hajia SARAT KAREEM

Hajia Sarat Kareem is the Creative Director of Hajia Fabrics. She was born and raised in Lagos State. She is a graduate of Lagos State University.      

Being fashionable from such an early age increased her interest in designing and sourcing for the best fabrics that can be used for different attires. She has been successfully running her business for about 11 years now and it’s been amazing watching it grow into what it is now.

In her interview with OYINLOLA SALE, Hajia Sarat Kazeem tells us her story of becoming a serial entrepreneur.

What led you into becoming a serial entrepreneur?

Growing up in a business-orientated family motivated me and that led to me having a passion for wanting to be an entrepreneur myself as I had learnt the managerial skills needed.

 Having an interest in fashion also motivated me and that’s how I came about Hajia Fabrics, buying and selling of it and also making different designs of attires.

How do you manage to merge your boost for libido business and Hajia Fabrics?

I started up with the buying and selling of fabrics and hair treatment and getting customers from that resulted in me wanting to diversify my business which led to the introduction of the libido booster.

As an entrepreneur, coming up with new methods to reach my target audience which is women, it was easy to introduce the libido booster to them. Sometimes you don’t know how people will perceive or react to some things but as there was an increase in sales and new customers it just made it easier as well.

How do you source for you the natural products you use for sexual enhancements?

The natural products I use are from Nigeria and other African countries. I get a lot of information about some natural products such as cloves, dates and tiger nuts which are very essential to boost libido. These are all tested before being sold.                          

What are some of the challenges you face in building your business?

Some products are seasonal such as the cultural outfits, when they don’t trend it’s harder to make sales. It’s also a highly competitive market so I have to work towards making my business unique from other competitors so I can stand alone.

What is your best selling product and why? 

 My fragrance and libido are my best selling products because these two are very common worldwide and everyone, especially women are interested in boosting their libido. My fragrances on the other hand have different amazing smells such as floral, fruity. One can smell expensive, the fragrance fills the room and we all know the key to feeling beautiful is smelling good so it’s a confidence booster.

What can be done to curb the infiltration of fake products in the market?

Ensuring to check the ingredients being used carefully and with that, you can determine the quality of the product.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs that have an interest in your line of business?

Work towards reaching your goals, dedication will also come in hand as sometimes one might think it’s easy to give up but don’t. Times will be hard but to reach your goals, one will face some challenges but that shouldn’t stop and bring you down. Being kind and tolerant would help a lot as in this line of business you have to deal with people and that’d help you in the real world.
