Let me start by congratulating you on the success of your new movie set to premiere in February, how has it been?
Thank you so much for the opportunity. It has been a rollercoaster, from one good news to another and bad news as well. But we thank God, it all ends in praise. It has not been easy for me because this is my first Cinema project. It hasn’t been an easy task but God has been so faithful.
What should your fans expect come February 2nd?
You all should expect something great because I like to go all out when I’m ready to do something. I don’t do what I’m not ready to do. I can stay for years to get something right. I used fantastic actors that are known for good works; the likes of Prince Jide Kosoko……….e.t.c. The movie is all about crime, love and betrayal. All the actors did their best.
You have remained one of the successful female movie producers in the industry, what’s the secret?
There is no secret anywhere, I’m someone who loves to read people’s mind or sometimes dream about some things. So, I believe I can tell the scriptwriter the story and it will come out well. I became a good producer because I understand what producing is all about and putting record into character.
Recently, your house was demolished, how devastated were you?
I won’t lie I was frustrated. I was really down. I travelled before it happened and I had already spent lots of money. My thinking was for me to return to the country and start working on my project. I did not see the demolition coming at all. They came to inform us and 4 to 5days interval they started demolishing. I did not know where to go. Though I have another house in Ibadan but I can’t go back there because for me it’s like going back when I had already made a name for myself here. I was so frustrated. I was thinking how I will do it, but God proved himself as God. I was able to get a new place and I moved in.
So, how were you able to bounce back; producing a standard movie barely 2 months after your house was demolished?
Of course, I had little money on me which I planned to spend on my project, so I had to use the money to sort myself first. Although, we started the production of Angel’s Eye before I travelled to UK.
What is the cost of the production?
I can’t really calculate it but it runs into millions of naira. Like I said, we used top actors. We shot in different locations; Ikorodu, Mowe e.t.c. We spent a lot going back and forth.
