•Opens Up @ His 45 Birthday Party
A Google search for the Best Birthday Party In Nigeria 2019, will surely give you the recent birthday party of the popular Celestial Church Prophet, Isreal Oladele Ogundipe, the Founder of Genesis Global Parish.
Saturday 10th, March 2019, was his birthday and he had a grand celebration at the prestigious event centre, called Grandeur, located on 17, Billings way, Oregun-Ikeja, Lagos.
It was a 2-in-1 event; as he also held his Stand-Out Conference to celebrate his 45th birthday with members of his church. Christian leaders all over the world, celebrities, well-wishers, who are fans of his trooped to the Grandeur event centre enmasse to celebrate one of their owns.
At about 3 pm the programme kicked off with a prayer from Pastor David, followed by a wonderful ministration by Praise Team. This no doubt
Shortly after, the celebrant and his wife Adesola, were ushered into the hall with melodious music.
The celebrant, Pastor Oladele, popularly called Genesis Pastor, was beautifully dressed in a traditional white attire outfit, with a match cap to complement it. He was the cynosure of all eyes, as many people who haven’t seen him one-on-one before queued up to take a look at him. Trust him, he didn’t disappoint them, as he also took time to greet as many as he could.
Genesis Global Choir also performed at the event. They had a very good music performance.
This event would forever remain indelible in the minds of every person who witnessed the birthday celebration of Genesis Pastor and his much talked about Stand-Out Conference. This event was put together to celebrate and encourage those who have stood out in their various endeavours. It is also a programme to encourage small minded people to be courageous and stand out in whatever they are doing.
One of the outstanding comedians in the night is Dr. Smile, who changed the atmosphere in the hall with his funny jokes, as he reminded the guests their bad, good and ugly time; and mixed them up with his funny jokes.
The popular comedian revealed some shocking things about his past and how he had struggled in the past. He said “I used to patronise ‘Alfas’ to help me boost my career. I paid them huge amount of money for me to be able to get as many shows as possible but it all failed me”
“But since I have told myself not to patronise them again, about 4 years ago, things have changed for me. I now have a house of my own. I have my car. I bought one for my mum”
One gospel artiste who almost pulled the hall down with his energetic performance is Dare Justified. He serenaded all the guests who came to celebrate Pastor Genesis with his melodious tune. The celebrant on the other hand had a good outing as he had to change from one outfit to another. One of such was when he changed his traditional outfit to a well cut black suit, while his wife, Adesola rocked a long royal-gown, embroided with white stones all round. They indeed complemented each other.
When it was time to speak, the man of God said he won’t like to say much about his past. “I didn’t go to Polytechnic. I didn’t go to University but my destiny is not in the polythene bag, and I have been able to write about 6 books”.
He said, he would want to explain more about being Stand Out. “I want to give God the glory over my family who brought me to this world without a silver spoon in my mouth, but to the glory of God, I have been able to construct my own silver spoon. It is not a crime to be born poor, it is a crime to die poor. I remembered I started from a place in Oshodi called 34B, Brown Street and not quite long the man (our landlord then) came to greet me. And “I want to celebrate the man who used to allow me to sit down on the floor to watch television in his room then in Oshodi, 34B, Brown Street, where my mother trained 7 of us in a room. It was “Baba Rashidat”, popularly called “Olowo Brown” that would allow me to watch TV in his room”.
When my mum used to sell pepper at Bolade Oshodi. I used to sit down in this man’s room because there was no TV in my father’s room and I would go to his room and sit down on the floor to watch TV. And everybody would say Wasiu ‘Kekere’ (Small Wasiu), move forward. But the most painful part is that, I lost my father 2 years ago. My father would have loved to see this man”. Then, my father would not want us to watch TV in another man’s room.
WHY I LIKE ALHAJI WASIU AYINDE
It was my mum that made me like Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde. I am not going to change my mind about liking him. I don’t pretend and I don’t deceive myself. I like Wasiu Ayinde. When he sang “Talazo Disco”, my mother would be listening to Wasiu Ayinde, she would lay her hand on the television and lay that hand on me, that this Wasiu is successful, you too will be successful. This Wasiu would not fall, my own Wasiu too won’t fall”. So, if you are a Pastor and you are forming, you better stop. Stop pretending and be real. You better let people know who you are. You better let them know where you are coming from. You better let them know where you are going.
He also spoke on the perspective people have against him. He said “I know today, many of you would wonder why I am not wearing my Sultana. That I am not wearing Sultana doesn’t mean I won’t talk, or preach”. I looked at myself and I said I am uncommon. Why? Because my stature is not common. The way I smile is not common. The way I preach is not common. You have to understand the place of your uniqueness. Because if you are trying to be somebody else, you will be somebody less”.
Standing Out means, to be transformationally minded. You need to have a mentality of transformation. Transformation means giving it a total new look, compared to the way you saw it before, that those who attend Celestial must go to the stream, they must go to the bush but we do not believe in those things at the Genesis Church. We believe in Rhema.
Standing out means, coming out of mediocrity. Many people want to be celebrities but you are still celebrating mediocres. I refuse to be a mediocre.
“The problem of this country is that, some pastors who are preaching against churches, they are nobody. Some of them have no fire inside of them. Some of their prophetic powers is about guessing. Any pastor or church preaching against churches is demonic, because Jesus is love. All I know is that, there is power in Celestial Church. We serve the miracle working God”.
The celebrant also reached out to his wife in a romantic way, as he called her his best friend for always being there.
The celebrant told everyone who cares to listen that he would soon be writing his WAEC and he would like to study Law at LASU or UNILAG.
One of the big personalities present was CSP Dolapo Badmus, who revealed how he met Pastor Isreal Oladele in the year 2009, in Alakuko area of Lagos. She said so much good things about him; how the two have remained connected since then.
Also present is popular Yoruba actor, Yomi Fash-Lanso and many other celebrities, like Femi Solar.
LET’S TALK ABOUT TIM GODFREY’S PERFORMANCE
The wave making gospel singer, Timi Godfrey had a classic outing, as it almost brought down the roof! The band serenaded not only the celebrant but the entire guests present, as they all danced and danced to the melodious songs dished out.
