How long have you been dancing with Yinka Ayefele?
I have been with Yinka Ayefele for about 25 years it. I can say I joined his band right from the beginning. I was part of his first album.
Tell us how you joined him as a dancer?
Yinka Ayefele spotted me at Galaxy Television in Ibadan. He told one of our captains called Ege, who is now late, to find me and get in touch with me. And ever since, I have been with my boss, Yinka Ayefele.
What were you doing in Galaxy Television at that time?
I wasn’t doing anything much back then. I came first in a popular dance competition which was shown on Galaxy Television. The competition was largely viewed in Ibadan. It was after winning the competition that Yinka Ayefele spotted me and brought me into his band as his dancer.
How will you describe your working relationship with Yinka Ayefele?
My boss is a very nice person. He is someone that loves hardworking and dedicated people. He frowns at getting to stage late and taking his job with levity. He always advises that whoever does his work with dedication would gain a lot. He is also nice and accommodating. He is a benevolent person who has reached out both to the young and the old.
What are the things you have learnt working with him?
I have learnt many things working with Yinka Ayefele. I learnt the virtue of patience, I learnt how to relate and entertain people. I learnt all this by observing my boss do his things.
What are the material things you have achieved working with your boss?
Thanks to God Almighty. I have achieved a lot under my boss. Part of them is that I have bought vehicle and by the grace of God, I’m still on my house-building project. And I believe that God will help me complete it.
What else do want to say about your boss?
My prayer for him is for God to continue to elevate him. May he continue to enjoy the goodness of life and never know sorrow. I also pray that his radio station, Fresh FM will continue to blossom with its tentacles spreading beyond the shores of Nigeria. I also pray that those that are working with him, including myself would achieve greatness and never be ridiculed for working with him. I want to be proud to make people see how great working for Yinka Ayefele is.
