She recently spoke to City People Publisher, SEYE KEHINDE about her success story. Below are excerpts.

Tell us about Aries Fabrics?

Aries is my star name, I was born in March. I named my business after my star name. When it comes to fabrics I deal with different fabrics from Swiss lace, Korean lace, Austria lace and a little bit of China fabrics also and also fabrics for men like polish lace and fitted material for men with high quality, strictly original, direct from the factory.

Why did you decide on lace alone?

Well, I love fashion, I was born into the fabric business. My late mother used to be a fabrics dealer. And because of my love for fabrics, I decided to venture into it.

Is this your first store?

This is my first store located at WEMCO Road in between Ogba/Ikeja industrial road. I bought the shop and its mine.

How did the business start for you and what really attracted you to it?

To me fashion is just my passion, I love fashion. When I see good and unique fabrics on people I admire it, and I decided to turn my passion into money and I went for it.

How long have you been in this business?

I officially started 2019 (4 years) ago. Before then I have been doing it on a small scale, like when my friends have a function they order through me, I had my contacts before I started fully.

I started it out of passion and favour to people because when I see the material they ordered and it is of low unquality.

I will just volunteer to help them order directly from the company at a cheaper rate.

How do you get your fabrics?

I have manufacturer contact from Swiss, Korean, Austria and sometimes China. Most times I order China for people that want it as Aso-Ebi and they deliver straight to Nigeria.

How do you combine your business with your home?

It’s not hard, business is money and if you love the money you will know how to balance your family, home and business.

I have a sales rep here at the store, a housekeeper at home and I have a driver that drives me around, so I come to my store and do my business. Because most times I need to supply my customers and I can’t send a dispatch rider, so I go in person to supply them and to encourage them on what to pick.

What is your message to your customers out there?

I sell quality, I don’t compromise on quality because I love fashion and my fabrics are affordable, I don’t put high profit on my goods and my fabrics are top-notch.
