Alexis Properties Limited Boss, Chief Kola Osanyintola
Chief Kola Osanyintola is one of the top personalities honoured at the recently held 2024 edition of City People Awards for Excellence. He was celebrated as Citypeople’s Real Estate Personality of the Year at the annual awards ceremony.
Chief Osanyintola is an accomplished real estate consultant whose name needs no further introduction once mentioned. He is a big real estate player who has been around for over 30 years. He is the chairman/CEO of Alexis Properties Limited, Candid Quarries Nigeria limited and O Kola Enterprises.
Chief Osanyintola has received multiple awards in recognition of his excellence in the area of real estate. His indelible service to humanity has also gotten him chieftaincy titles such as Balogun of Eguru Village and Otun Itori Odo Egbaland both in Ogun state.
He is highly experienced as part of his resume before joining the real estate sector speaks volume of how vast he is. He had worked at The Abiola Farms Nigeria limited, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited before he finally returned to his business as real estate consultant and managers. During the award ceremony, Citypeople Jamiu Abubakar (08085185886) had a chat with him where he told me how late Oba Oniru influenced him to go into real estate business over 30 years ago and what has kept him in business till date. Below are excerpts:
How do you feel about receiving the City People Award for Excellence?
I can’t say much but I will say thank you to Citypeople for honouring me today.
What does this award mean to you?
This award is an achievement for me and we thank God for it.
What do you think you have been doing differently to bag City people Awards for Excellence?
Well it is not by myself. It is by Almighty God and from the Almighty God.
How were you able to pull through the many challenges ascribed to the real estate sector?
Normally there are lots of challenges but when you are focused, you will know where you are going.
What are the principles that work for you?
There’s not much principle there. You focus and be truthful. Once you are truthful, you get your way.
What would be your advice to young Nigerians who aim to make a living from real estate?
They should know that everything is not money. They should pursue their goal; not pursue how I can corner and get rich in a short period. I started over 30 years ago but today, I thank God.
What is the project you are doing currently which you wish to share with us?
There are lots of projects on our hands. The most recent of them is that of GTB property, Ibiz International hotel on the airport road, given to me to sell for them. I was given power of attorney to it.
Why did you go into real estate?
Normally, right from the beginning, I read Agric. I work with Abiola Farms and a couple of others. I have my own farms, Okola Enterprises. The person that initiated me into the property business is one of the renowned kings in Lagos, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru of blessed memory. May his soul rest in peace. I never regretted switching from Agriculture into the real estate business.
