Lami Bankz who is better known by his corporate style of dressing. He is a manager to one of the controversial music acts, Naira Marley. Lami is a promoter, showbiz photographer and CEO of Lami’s place. His real name is Ogundeji Olamide Raphael. He got into the industry 6 years ago and has created a niche for himself. Lami is also in a relationship with one of Naija’s hottest lady DJs Dimple Nipple. City People’s Entertainment, Reporter PRECIOUS POMAA, recently had an interview with him where he talked about his journey into music.
Tell us about Lami Bankz?
My full name is Ogundeji Olamide Rapheal. The Ceo of Lamisplace. I’m into music promotion, showbiz, photography and talent management.
I’m a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
How did you come up with the name corporate Marlian?
I love to dress corporate and moreover when people hear that you are a Marlian, outside they tend to think you are an Indian hemp smoker, an addict thug, cultist and so on which is not true. We have so many Marlians, who are bankers, engineers, doctors even in the political arena, so I decided to add the word corporate to let them know that not all Marlians are irresponsible.
How long have you been in entertainment?
About 6 years now. It’s not really an easy journey, but we thank God.
What inspired you to open hair salon?
While i was growing up my dad always wanted me to learn barbing, but my own interest was to be a hairstylist and basically make girls hair. So, I have always had it in mind to open a unisex salon which I just did now
How long did it take you to execute Lami place?
It took me about 5 months, but I give all glory to God.
How far do you intend to go with your business?
My goal is to have branches all over the globe and create enough job opportunities for youths.
How did you come in contact with Naira Marley?
Naira Marley’s brother was my close friend and coursemate in school, so we frequently talk on video-call until we met in person.
Which of your lines brought you to limelight?
Photography brought me to the limelight.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
I am still learning. I am still growing and I am getting better in my crafts. I will just keep pushing and one by you will get all I always dream and I pray for.
Do you own a record label?
Yes, I just launched my studio. I’m calling on good artistes to come in and have a nice session.
Do you have any artiste signed under your label yet?
Yes, I do, but I will not reveal it yet because I don’t think it’s yet time. I think we should take everything softly and easy.
