I am Mrs. Oluremi Gbesan. I am the CEO of Komplit Hospitality Ventures.
Can you tell us when you have been offering catering services?
I have been doing it for the past 25 years.
What has been the challenges so far?
You know we have different types of customers, so to satisfy some will take time and at times they book for certain number of food to be prepared and in the end, people turn out more than they expected. Those are the challenges.
When and where have you worked before you started catering services?
Well, this is my profession, and I have worked with a lot of people, especially at Gateway Hotel, where I worked for 22 years before pulling out to start my own catering services.
Can you tell us aside from Gateway Hotel where else have you worked?
I worked with Crowther Theology School, Peter Akinola Foundation, Egba Diocese, Chrisland University and Institution Taxation where I cater for the Bishops and Teachers too.

Well, I love this catering job. When I was still a youth, I loved what I was doing so I didn’t think I can do any other job and last Thursday was my 60th birthday.
What are the types of food you prepare aside from continental dishes?
I do prepare Yam Flour (Amala) Spot and Chinese, food as well, Ewa Aganyin with Dodo. I can boldly say all dishes.
Where are you based?
I’m based here in Abeokuta and I do travel to any state where my services are needed.
Do you have your own restaurant/shop?
No, I don’t have a restaurant, I operate from the comfort of my home or I will go and prepare it where I am invited to come and cater.
Can you tell us where we can get across to you like social media handles?
I have an Instagram Handle and I am also on WhatsApp.
Can you tell us about the challenges you faced when starting your own catering service?
The major problem is how to get your customers and also the money aspect, because if you want to start this business, you have to have enough equipment and get yourself, your customers, to start. And to satisfy your customer is also an important key because customers are always right and you have to make sure your customers are satisfied.
Why do people love eating your Amala?
People love the Amala I do prepare because Amala is one of the best food people like to have and most people can’t prepare it at home. So when they see it outside or at events with jute leaf (Ewedu) and Gbegiri, they will fall in love with it. Meanwhile, how you present also matters a lot.
