•Details Of His Classy Birthday Party In LAGOS

Tuesday, 23rd July 2019, was and would forever be a remarkable day for the family members of NNPC top shot Chief Olajide Ogunleye, who is also the Manager, Head Office Accounts at the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), a subsidiary of the NNPC, as he celebrated his Diamond Jubilee in grand style.   Family members and friends stormed his new house, situated at Northern Estate, No 19, Wormwool Street, Chevron Drive, Lekki, Lagos to celebrate with him.

Chief Olajide, does not look 60. You could regard him a 40- year- old man.  He looks so young and yuppy in his navy blue native attire he spotted on his day. He looked different when he changed into a pink polo t-shirt matched with cream colour chinos. We were about to ask for the celebrator despite that he was sitting right in front of us attending to guests. Chief Olajide’s black and glowing complexion, his ageless look and handsome physique,  indeed, show a product of grace blessed by God. He is a valuable member of Ikoyi Club and the Chairman of the table tennis section at the club.

It was a 2-in-1 celebration; tagged: Pen down and his 60th birthday celebration. No wonder the whole place was filled to the brim. In his house, everything was beautifully put in place. Though the party tent was erected outside for the guests, there is no how you would enter the beautiful compound and you would not want to take a glimpse of the inside. The interior of the house looks so inviting, painted in white. The sitting room looks so classy and so expensive; with exquisite chandeliers, imported upholstery chairs, etc.

City People’s Assistant Editor SUNDAY ADIGUN and Photo Journalist, IDOWU MATTHEW, were at the get- together party to serve you all the gists.

…AND THE EVENT KICKS OFF WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP

There is no better way to kick-off a classy event such as this than to praise God Almighty. The thanksgiving service to mark the 2 significant milestones started with praise and worship led by Funmilayo Adebero, one of the closest sisters to the family. Aside from leading the praise and worship, she was seen moving up and down making sure that all guests were comfortable even before the prayer and thanksgiving started. Let’s inform you that, she sure knows how to sing. Her sonorous voice is very something to the ears and she was able to something to the ears everyone along during the session.

HOW ABOUT THOSE WHO ROCKED “WE ARE BLESSED” T-SHIRT

Over ten members of the family rocked a uniform T-shirt with an inscription: “We are blessed”. The uniform T-shirt was lovely on them. Those who wore the T-shirts were busy moving up and down to make sure that everyone was okay and comfortable. They described themselves as close pals to the family and they were the planners of the event. They all looked so beautiful in blue with a touch of gold T-shirt.

MEET THE CELEBRATOR’S WIFE

The beautiful woman, who was the cynosure of all eyes on the day is Mrs. Olubukola Ogunleye (Nee Atoki). This epitome of beauty is the celebrator’s wife. Their marriage recently clocked 25 years, though they courted for over 5 years according to her. Olubukola is the proprietress of the high-flying A-grade, creche playground and Primary School situated at Magodo, Shangisha in Lagos called De Beautiful Beginning School, the school she started 10 years ago. She was all over the place playing the perfect host to all guests.

WHAT THE PREACHER SAID

We have many reasons to thank God on behalf of our brother, Chief Edward Olajide Ogunleye, who just clocked 60. For one to attain that age and still look this handsome in this present Nigeria, despite the economic situation of the country, then it is only by the God’s grace, says Pastor Sam Atewe, a Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor. Pastor Sam led the family members in about one-hour prayer session. Prayed for the celebrator to witness more years in good health and prosperity. He also asked the wife and the children to join the celebrator and he charged all the guests to pray for them.

YEMI JAZZ DID WONDERS

There was light music, played after the prayer session for the celebrator, Chief Edward Olajide Ogunleye and members of his family. One of the best saxophonists rocking the gospel scene, Yemi Jazz, with a keyboardist was fully in charge of the music. When you hear the name, Yemi Jazz, Yemi Sax comes to your mind because of his popularity. But they are two individuals, glorifying God with their sax. Yemi Jazz sure knows how to make people dance to his tune, as his performance moved many dignitaries to dance at the party.

IKOYI CLUB MEMBERS GIVE SUPPORT

Top Ikoyi club members were at their very best in supporting one of their own, Chief Edward Olajide Ogunleye. As their tradition implies, they came out en-masse, looking gorgeous in their wears. Some in native attire, while some dressed in casual wears to support the man of the moment, to mark his diamond jubilee.   Recall that Ikoyi Club provides first-class facilities for over 10,000 members. The club was established by Europeans in 1938 in Ikoyi, Lagos as a rest house.
