Since the opening of the Osborn La-Palm Resorts in Port Harcourt, Nigerians have begun to have an idea about the true net worth of Osborn Nweze, the son of former Ebonyi State governor and the incumbent Minister of Works, David Umahi.
The Osborn La-Palm Resort, incorporated in 2011 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as a private-owned indigenous company, has within 12 years grown to have branches in other three cities in the country. By the last quarter of 2023, it had become one of the biggest players in the Nigerian hospitality industry, with its signature Osborn La Palm Royal Resort.
Osborn Nweze, as the chairman of the fast-expanding hospitality empire, speaks volumes about his clout as a high-net-worth individual.
Although he has lived a modest life away from the glare of the public, the 26-year-old is speculated to have a personal worth of over $200 million.
This is not farfetched if his background is viewed within the big picture.
For instance, he is the director of finance at Forte GCC Innovative Solutions, a company known for the management of the financial assets of many wealthy individuals in Africa. In his capacity as the financial director of the company, he oversees a large portfolio of investments in real estate, bonds, stocks, and oil and gas, among others.
It is also instructive to note that he has, for some years now, been the managing director of Brass Oil and Construction Limited, a major company that has been handling construction works in Ebonyi and other states in the South East and South-South regions. The other aspect of the company’s operation is in the oil and gas sector, where Brass Oil, with its chain of fuel stations, is a dominant player in the petroleum downstream sector.
