Definitely and without doubt Success has maƱy friends. For those who have tasted being celebrated, clearly, the feeling of accomplishment is euphoric and so elating. Today aside Pastors, motivational speakers, and life coaches are sorted to ensure attainment that will drive many into GOD-given potentials. That been said generally in Africa, there is a massive gap between real success or greatness universally and the occasional fluke we see with individuals here and there. The usage of the word fluke describes the mediocre aspect, where many have the financial wherewithal which does not correlate with the wholesome factors. In other words, growth and development can not be isolated, rather it must touch every aspect of society.

Around us you see different humongous buildings with beautiful aesthetics, however as one considers the driveways in getting to the desirable destination in terms of defects, appalling surrounding the interpretation is that of a failed society. The Yorubas rightly say one rich man amongst the miserably poor will inevitably fall into bad times and be pulled back to the deplorable state of his people. I have often wondered how people or individuals can close their eyes without considering the plight of others.

Equity that develops aƱ egalitarian society is somewhat not considered in Africa. Yet many scramble to go to Britain especially in Nigeria to partake of the welfare state, which is the ideology of taking responsibility for the people from the cradle to the grave. In fact, these are the only outlets where a black man or African can gain ascendancy into prosperity and attain potential equilibrium with the flourishing elites back home. Also with this person rather than try to pull others up, which is actually the daily practice these days through transfers and other means, a good number just blend in those foreign countries. Africa continually loses potential achievers even when these come home, they become corrupted adopting quickly the crooked mode of survival.

The upper echelon is solely insensitive forgetting that the prosperity of one is essentially brought about to enhance and advance all. Mostly the exchange of tangible gifting is within a certain class. Talking of a group of a respecter of persons, with discrimination and snobbery depicting who we are, totally. The immiseration of society is widespread, schemes such as housing built for the poor are hijacked and hiked up so shamelessly. Government for the people by the people remains unattainable, leaving the poor masses only to grovel. What about a revolution? This is a far cry, based on the fact that for a protracted time suffering and oppression has been relegated to the survival mode. Many do not know any other way, so a lot of reenactment that involves awareness, innovation for a better life must be propagated. This must be massively driven aggressively to birth a vibrant mindset to bring about the necessary and desired change. The truth is that we have a mediocre, selfish and unwise elite, who have short-circuited every form of growth and development.

The Society’s in Africa must ARISE
