Internet scam, commonly known in Nigeria as Yahoo-Yahoo is a type of fraud which is executed via the use of the internet. Online fraud appears in many forms. It ranges from Email spam to Online scams.
Internet scammers steal millions of dollars each year from victims and continue to entrap them via the internet through various methods. From the advent of the Internet, fraudulent individuals have used this new form of technology to commit all sorts of criminal activities. Nigeria in particular, has battled hard to combat this scourge but all efforts seem to be futile. The people who engage in this Online activity are usually called Yahoo Boys in Nigeria. Some of these people are easily identified by their looks and approach. Most of them spend heavily on gold chains, expensive cars and they patronise most expensive clubs in town.
These “boys” (internet scammers) usually target greedy individuals for exploitation. They would often start by proposing an idea, that can transform someone’s life. And immediately you fall into their traps, you automatically become their prey and their victims are usually tagged as Maga.
Back then, ‘Yahoo Boys’ only had few tricks they used to swindle foreigners. The simplest of all the trick is called Freestyle trick and this is what the fresh yahoo beginner usually starts with.
With this, you open an account in a popular dating site, using a pretty lady’s photo. The other tricks include “Come and Carry Format” or next of kin format. This trick, the scammer claims to be a banker and he tells his victim that he has a huge sum of money in his care by a late businessman. Thereafter, the scammer tells the victim that he will need some certain amount of money to get the necessary documents to claim the money.
This above tricks had always been working for these scammers until recently when some of them had to go to extremely bizarre lengths to make more than enough money. The love for money has made many of them dump the normal tricks used to swindle foreigners and Nigerians as well. Presently, we now have what they call ‘Yahoo Plus’. Yahoo Plus simply means the addition of Voodoo to swindle foreigners. Yahoo Plus is also the addition of ritual sacrifices to make enough money for themselves.
We can authoritatively tell you that internet fraudsters, popularly called Yahoo Boys have moved from just ordinary tricks to trap magas. Few months ago; about 7 to 8 months, it was reported that a certain Yahoo boy barked for many hours.
Before we take you further, lets tell you some of the tricks and the new acts of these fraudsters called Yahool Boys. Below are some of these tricks.
In Ijebu-Ode, April 2018, a video of a Yahoo Boy (ritualist) barking like a dog trended on the social media for more than a month. From the report, the video surfaced from Ijebu Ode town. This is another way for these guys to renew their power and increase their wealth.
Another way is that, some of these scammers now go as far as eating Poo. This is not a joke, as it happened a few months back with a video evidence. Their believe is that, once you can do this your wealth will increase.
Last month a video trended on Twitter where a lady was seen discharging faeces directly into a guy’s mouth who many believed to be a ‘Yahoo Boy’. There was another Yahoo Boy who ate bread and faeces around that period. Many will wonder why they do such things. From our findings, we found out that it is part of the process outlined for money making rituals. And as we said earlier, some of them also have to bark, at least once a month as part of the ritual to make money.
Lately, the new way Yahoo Boys now adopt as part of the ritual is to steal female pants and underwears for money ritual. This happened in Delta State. This report has generated confusions and fears among female folks, not only in Delta but in every other state, as many have stopped spreading their pants outside. In Delta, it was even reported that, many of the ladies have stopped wearing pants for the fear of Yahoo Boys.
Wiping of lady’s vagina with towel or handkerchief after sex is also another terrible revelation ladies should be aware of. What this means is that, this towel, after it had been used for it’s purpose returns to the herbalist for money ritual. According to our findings, ladies who suffer this fate always experience bad luck. Few months ago, a Yahoo Boy who was caught in the act confessed and said many ladies whom he had sex with can now be called empty, as he has used their womb and destiny for rituals.
Few months ago at Lekki Phase 1 first roundabout, a guy was pictured taking bath early in the morning at the round about. He parked his car while he was taking his bath. This is another part of the process outlined for them for money ritual.
There are many ways these people now make money. Some of them even go mad for 5 minutes and all these is to enable them become even richer. These ‘boys’ have different ways of money ritual outlined for them by their herbalists and they go to any extent to make it happen. Many of them choose this option of ritual or go for another. The currentlytrending one is the eating of currency notes. According to a trended video on facebook, a guy believed to be a ‘Yahoo Boy’ was seen eating money, as many believe it’s part of the part of the process for money ritual. We can also tell you that, another one but is very common is the killing of goat, ram or cow. What they do is that, they kill the animal and they invite their friends to dine with them. They are the ones who usually celebrate birthdays naming ceremonies, burials, every time.
