I heartily rejoice with you and the entire members of your family. I first heard of Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya when I was about 13 years old. You have not on Iy remained an important figure and a larger than life personality in our society. but your humility and generosity have grown and towered over your wealth and influence. Your reputation for hard work and service to humanity is highly commendable, no wonder your name has become synonymous with success. Having played and remained at the topmost level of business activities in Nigeria, despite your humble background. is a lesson that should be documented for future generations. In addition. it remains a mystery to me how you have managed your expansive social lifestyle with your business successes. You were a source of inspiration to my generation at a time when it was widely speculated that nothing good would come out of Lagos. I recall quite well how we used to proudly celebrate you as a success story to many doubting Thomases.
