i got the idea to set up NNPP in a dream

If you can dream it, you can do it. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. Your limits are all within yourself. A Dream is one’s creative vision for one’s life in the Future. Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam is the Founder of NNPP, new Nigerian People’s Party. To him, NNPP was berthed through the dream he had. “ NNPP is an intervention from God. It was an inspiration I got to set it up. Just like I founded NAGAFF. So I went through the due process of the procedures involved with the registration of a political party. And people began to be part of it , thats where we are today.

“At the initial stage of the party, when it was registered, Finance was our major challenge, but God intervened and along the line, people began to join. In that trance, I asked that those who will help me should come, and Kwankwanso and some other personalities came.

NNPP was established in 2001 and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso, the former Kano State Governor from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015 pitched the party’s ticket when he was denied from PDP in 2022. He abandoned PDP and joined NNPP. He contested and won the Presidential primary held in Abuja. “ Now NNPP is number three in political hierachy in Nigeria. We have APC as the leading political party, PDP and of course  New Nigerian People’s Party”, he said. As it is now , there are speculations that Kwankwanso isnt in good term with both you and the party? “Myself and kwankwanso are in good terms. No issue atall. Our relationship is very Cordial”.

Bringing great people into your team is about demonstrating that size really doesnt matter but people. Kwankwanso through his movement really is a big factor for the growth of NNPP which Dr . Aniebonam affirmed that truely his coming into the party changed the statusquo completely. One is never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true . You may have to work for it however.

Not only did Dr Boniface Aniebonam. founded NNPP, he also founded National Association of Government Freight Forwarders ( NAGAFF) . This proved that a leader has the vision and Conviction that a dream can be achieved. He inspired the power and Energy to get it done. When asked what inspired him to Establish NAGAFF, He said “ To a very large extent, I had worked with Nigerian Customs , so I thought of how i can add value to the Maritime industry at the Port”. NAGAFF in decades had been able to solidify the logistics arm of the clearing and forwarding in Nigeria . The berth of NAGAFF has built enterpreneurs in import and export industry. Indeed ideas are easy though implementing it is hard but chasing it makes it easier.

How did you see the Taraba state judgement of the Supreme Court? “Taraba state judgement is based on the facts available as reported to me. There were facts that were disclosed for the use of the Appeal and Supreme Court. Though there were material evidence that were required to make necessary judgement and if those things are not presented, the hands of the court will be tied. And precisely , this matter raised was at the time the tribunal had compromised the whole process , so by the time we realised this, it was already late.”

Politics comes with its  own intrigues, pretence and betrayals. How will you describe Nigerian Politics in the context of political intrigues and party politics of today? “ it is an act of human being. Human beings are bound to act in such manner. Playing politics can’t be taken out of Nigerian society. Apparently, what should be of great concern to us all is the issue of corruption in Nigeria.”.

How did you feel when you heard the Kano State judgement . was it contrary to what you were expecting based on the fact that tribunal works against opposition? “We won Kano State because we actually won in the first place. We won because the mandate of Kano people was given to our party representative and because facts were presented before the court, definitely, judgement came in line with the material evidence that was provided.” No great main lives in vain. The History of the world is all about the biography of great men. Nothing but biography is of A man who good interest to people.

A man who hails from Umuawalu in Anambra state, he studied mechanized Agriculture at Ahmadu Bello University College of Agriculture, Zaria. Had an advanced Diploma in Shipping , Ports Administration and Management from University of Lagos. Had his Post Graduate Diploma ( PGD) in transport planning and Management from Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology (NIIT). Holds an Honourary Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Hawai Cornerstone University. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Shipping. Chairman of Aniebonam Organization, now a conglomerate that includes Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Maritime. Indeed, true success is overcoming the fear of being unsuccessful and with his brilliant success story, this means one’s dream can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.
