I Like My Dressing To Promote Yoruba Culture – Iyalode TOLANI SALAWU

At the 3rd City People’s Fashion & Beauty Awards on Sunday, 29th November 2020, at STADPLUS Events Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. IYALODE TOLANI SALAWU,  one of the awardees spoke with City People’s TITILOPE OSHUNLALU. She explained her title as Iyalode in Ayetoro Gbede in Kogi State.

Can we meet you?

I am Chief (Mrs) Motolani Enitan Salawu.

I am the Iyalode Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Council in of Kogi State. The Aare (President) Association of Iyalode(s) in Nigeria and Diaspora.

What do you do?

I am a Cultural Ambassador, a Relationships Expert, a Prolific Author, an Inspirational Writer and Motivational Speaker on attitude and lifestyle.

I love reading and writing, I have written 5 books. I am the author of “Inner Journey to a Purposeful Life”, “Successful Marriage and The Commandments”, “My First Spark’, “The Chosen Path and “Golden Life Tonic”.

I am the founder/Chairperson BOT of Virtuous Women Pillars Club, an NGO that focuses on the reorientation of younger women for a healthier society and a brighter future for orphans and girls from broken homes. I am a young retired Seasoned Marketer, who now manages her NGO and personal business as an Entrepreneur. I love to dress as you can see me now,I want people to know that I am promoting Yoruba culture, even as young as I am I am a princess and a Queen in my community. I am married with children.

Where do you see yourself in 2 years time?

I want people to see the best in me, I love a peaceful life, I will talk more to people that I know. For people who have self-esteem, I tried to talk to them to know what to do with their lives and be better in life.

What do you wish the organisers of this event?

I wish City People the best, I wish them well and I think they are coming out now, and the society is expecting much more from them and we will continue to patronise them more, and I also thank Dr. Seye Kehinde for making me one of today’s Awardees.
