I Wear Any Outfit That Makes Me Feel Comfortable – Lagos Lawmaker, Hon. MOJISOLA MERANDA

She is a Lagos lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency 1, at the Lagos House of Assembly. In this interview with City People WALE LAWAL, she talks about her fashion & style .

How have you coped juggling your role as an honourable member of the House and as a wife and mother?

If I tell you it’s been easy, I would be lying. But the most important one, which is number one, is marrying your friend that will encourage you and support you in whatever you do.

I have a very good man as my husband. He’s very supportive and that makes things a lot easier for me. Although, I no longer have time to do my normal cinema movie outings, but I always try to rest during weekends.

I always look forward to my weekends. Even if I have to go out for an outing, I always try to return home early so I can rest. And again, I have got good hands in the house that assist me with the kids.

I remember last time we spoke, you said you always make sure you do your cooking, especially for your husband, do you still have time to do this?

Yes, that is standard. I still do my cooking.

The major cooking I do, but you know, when you keep stuffs in the freezer those at home can always take care of themselves by boiling rice and stuff, but the major cooking I do it.

And it’s because I love cooking. Half of the time that I was at home yesterday (Sunday) I was in the kitchen. To me, it’s all part of relaxation.  

Let’s talk about fashion. I know you’re not a jewelry person and would probably not do jewelry unless the occasion calls for it. What are you most comfortable with fashion-wise?

Anything that makes me feel comfortable, I’m cool with it. I do my things in moderation.

Like you said, I am not the jewelry type, usually I prefer something moderate when necessary. I do not believe that as public officers we should dress extravagantly.

I see no reason why we cannot dress like our counterparts in the private sector, you know, like bankers and the rest. I don’t think they dress heavily to the office every day.
