As DARE ADELEKE, BABATUNDE ODUYOYE & JOGOR Clock 60
The Ibadan social establishment is getting set to host top dignitaries from across other zones of the country to mega parties between September and October 2023, as three of its major stakeholders will be 60 within that period of time.
Hon. Dare Adeleke, the former Executive Chairman, PaceSetter Transport Services (PTS) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart; Hon. Babatunde Oduyoye, former Special Adviser on Strategy and Political Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and MD/CEO Jogor Events Centre, Engr. Femi Babalola will clock 60 on September 28, October 1st and October 19, respectively.
The three parties will be huge. This is because apart from turning 60 being significant in the lives of the three personalities, they are very popular, sociable and well connected. The three of them are major forces in Ibadan’s business, social and political circles. They, interestingly, also belong to the same political party, PDP and have friends in common.
Of the three upcoming birthday celebrations, however, Dare Adeleke’s own comes first on Friday 29th September, 2023. His son, Samuel Dare Adeleke Junior, City People exclusively gathered, will honour him with an elaborate party at 60. The party, tagged “Special Birthday Celebration” will hold at World Lilies Events Place, Moor Plantation GRA, Queens School Road, Oluyole, Ibadan. The party is expected to be a celebrity-studded one. Dare Adeleke is a prominent member of the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) and a close ally of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Babatunde Oduyoye, we also heard, is planning something bigger than his usual annual birthday lecture series. His birthday is October 1st. He is an “Independent born child”. The birthday lecture series, which Oduyoye said he initiated to promote national unity, has always drawn the creme de la creme of the society to Ibadan. The 7th edition in 2021 had in attendance the likes of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the then governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF); former Senate President, Senator Aldolphus Wabara Wabara; former Governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, among others.
Meanwhile, Engr. Femi Babalola’s birthday, from all indications, will come with a special theme. Jogor, as he’s popularly called, we gathered may celebrate his 60th birthday with opening of his multi million naira hotel project.
