The Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari on Friday said eminent sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate who have distinguished themselves in their various fields will soon be inducted into the community’s hall of fame.
The monarch particularly mentioned the late Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Gen. Tunde IdiAgbon and a retiring deputy comptroller general of Immigration, (DCG), Hajia Sadat Hassan amongst those to be inducted and unveiled in the hall of fame.
Hajia Sadat Hassan is the first female indigene of Ilorin Emirate to have attained the position of a ďeputy comptroller general of Immigration.
Sulu- Gambari dropped the hint during a thanksgiving prayer organised in honour of the retiring Immigration chief, held at the Emir’s palace, Ilorin.
A pull – out ceremony will be held in honour of Sadat Hassan on Saturday at the Nigeria Immigration Service annex office, Federal Secretariat, Ilorin where a book in her honour titled ” The Silent Amazon: Sadat Hassan; Life Of A Compassionate Officer” will be unveiled.
The royal father said he was proud that Hajia Hassan apart from being the first Ilorin female indigene to have attained the position,also retired with an “unblemished record in her service to her father’s land.”
He implored sons and daughters of the Emirate to always show love and kindness to one another and allow the spirit of oness and unity to always
bind them together.
The prayer which was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Salihu was attended by the spouse of the retiring immigration officer, Alhaji Hassan, foremost Nigeria’s Hollywood star, Alhaji Adebayo Salami, grand Khadi of Kwara State, Justice AbdulLateef Kamalden, Zana of Ilorin, Engr.Yusuf Lanre Sagaya, Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Netherlands, Amb. Nimotallahi Akanbi amongst others.
Also in attendance were top immigration officers from within and outside Kwara command of the immigration.
