Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has said he is not losing any sleep over the 50 million lawsuits reportedly filed by Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.

Amaechi on Monday, issued a seven-day ultimatum to Fani-Kayode and Governor Ayodele Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, to offer a public apology and pay him N1.25billion, for linking him with the $43million, which operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) discovered in a Lagos apartment last week.

In separate letters to Fani-Kayode and Olayinka, the counsel to Amaechi, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the former Rivers Governor warned that there would be stiff legal actions, should they fail to adhere to his demand over the alleged defamation.

Fagbemi said his client had never owned a home in Lagos and that the “misleading information” was capable of tarnishing Amaechi’s reputation.

However, Fani-Kayode in a statement signed by his Special Advisor, Jude Ndukwe, insisted he had not been served court papers.

“We have been inundated with calls concerning about a threat by Rotimi Amaechi to sue Chief Fani-Kayode for defamation over the 43 million USD issue. We are not losing any sleep over this matter.

“We have not received any court processes or letters from Amaechi but when we do so our lawyers will respond vigorously and appropriately. Thank you,” the statement read
