Ex-Minister for State Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has said he’s sad but consoled that his 95-year-old mum, Alhaja Wasilat Ejide, died in the month of Ramadan.

The former ambassador made this known hours after Pulse gathered that he lost his mum in the early hours of Saturday, June 3, 2017.

Alhaja Wasilat Obanikoro died in the early hours of this morning after a very brief illness at the ripe old age of 95.

“Her death is saddening but I and my siblings are consoled that it was peaceful, in her own bed and also in the Holy Month of Ramadan,” Obanikoro said.

On the burial, Obanikoro said his mum will be buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery by 2pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 according to Islamic rites.

“She will be buried this afternoon at Ikoyi Cemetery by 2pm after prayers at her residence in Barnabas Gemade Estate, Lagos Island.

“May we and all those bereaved in this period, find fortitude to bear our losses and may the departed rest in peace.” he said.

Meanwhile, condolence messages have continued to pour in for the politician, who recently mended fences with APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu – a move that has sparked off rumours of his intention to defect to the ruling party.
