Gifts Educational Materials, Food Items & Cash Award To Indigent Disabled Student
The Impact & Inspire Wuraolami Foundation has awarded Opeyemi Taiwo, a physically challenged student at Lagos State University, LASU, with the sum of one million naira as part of the Impact and Inspire Wuraolami Foundation Disabled Student Allowance (IIWFDSA).
In addition to the cash prize, Opeyemi Taiwo was also given a laptop, mattress, pillow, bed sheets, bucket, school bag, table, limb foodstuffs, beverages, and a monthly allowance of N20,000, alongside other groceries.
The IIWFDSA an initiative of Impact & Inspire Wuraolami Foundation is a scholarship program designed to support disabled students with their study-related costs due to long-term illnesses, mental health problems, or other disabilities.
Dame Ifeoyinola Wuraolami W. Jacobs, the convener of the foundation, advised Opeyemi Taiwo to embrace the present, let go of the past, have faith in the future, and surround herself with people who will uplift her. She also promised to provide Opeyemi Taiwo with a secure job opportunity upon graduation and urged her to see beyond her disability and focus on her abilities.
After receiving the donation from Impact Inspire Wuraolami Foundation, Opeyemi Taiwo expressed her gratitude and happiness by thanking the donor.
The Lagos State University management expressed their gratitude to the Impact and Inspire Wuraolami Foundation for their outstanding contributions over the years, and for maintaining a reputation of honesty, integrity, and service to humanity. They also encouraged the foundation to collaborate with the university’s disabled management team to promote equity and equality among the students.
