One of Nigeria’s progenitor of ICT and the MD/CEO of Soft Alliance, Mr. Tunde Badejo celebrated 70th on Saturday, July 27, 2019. And this delectable gentleman was celebrated by family, friends and schoolmates of over 50 years from his high schools in Esan of the Old Bendel State and Lagos state at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Billings way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
The birthday celebration was classy, as the celebrant was treated to a memorable event by all his loved ones. The guests who were about 1,500 at the event were all dressed glamorously in honour of the great man whose tribute inspired many as a humble, kind and loving father, boss and friend.
His story and journey are an inspiration to many. At a time when Information and Communication Technology, was not an easy achievement to establish, Mr. Badejo fought against the odds to take up the responsibility in 2004 to take SoftAlliance Technology to the next level and has never looked back since.
And so it was, therefore, worthwhile on this remarkable occasion of his birthday, as guests from all walks of life, show gratitude for his noble contribution to ICT, turned out to celebrate the astute digital guru and conever. Mr Badejo who donned a glittering white Agbada, accosted with his beautiful wife, Tosin Badejo, was visibly elated all through the evening.
Glamorous in their resplendent outfits, the guests were quite appreciative and cautious of the sophisticated plan trickling in at exactly 2 pm the scheduled time to honour a trailblazer. The dignitaries were successful men and women from various sectors: banking to the judiciary; politics, culture, arts, etc.
Among his many relatives, distinguished friends and guests that graced the occasion were Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Adegboyega Oyetola, executive governor of Osun State, and his beautiful wife, Kafayat Oyetola, Dr Wilson Badejo, the former General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Mr Ugbesia from Esan in Edo state, Funke Agagu, wife of late former Ondo, Governor, just to mention a few
Overwhelmed with joy, Mr. Badejo was pretty much at hand to receive the personalities from far and wide as they glided through the red carpet on to his warm embrace. He was showered with praises, prayers, and testimonies. The host was described in glowing words as iconic, kind, loving, caring, unassuming, disciplinarian, trailblazer, courageous, visionary, achiever, role model, hardworking, dogged, titan, and mentor.
The congratulatory message to the celebrant aptly captures the sentiments that flowed from the testimonies given by family members, friends and ex-students in acknowledgment of his impact through the school.
There was music from the famous Ponle Band to the melodious harmony of the Faith Band. As Mr. Tunde Badejo danced to the rhythm, his wife and friends joined him on the floor to make up the beautiful scenery. The merry would then trip over as classics of the past wafted through the speakers, momentarily reminiscing the host’s and his friend’s youthful days. Finger foods and exotic drinks complemented with local and intercontinental dishes were on offer.
And then a toast to the celebrant followed by picture sessions. Thrilled and overwhelmed, Mr. Tunde Badejo was left speechless when asked to say a few words to the gathering. At the end, it was a time well shared together celebrating a man who has distinguished himself over the years in human capacity building in ICT.
