Just In: Late Gen. Vatsa’s son is dead

Vatsa is the son of late General Maman Vatsa, who was executed for coup plotting during the regime of former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida

Alhaji Haruna Mamman Jiya Vatsa, the Director General of Protocol to the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, is dead.

Source says Vatsa died on Tuesday afternoon.

He was said to have died in Kaduna during a brief illness.

Bello’s Chief Press Secretary, Jibrin Baba Ndace, confirmed the development.

Vatsa is the son of late General Maman Vatsa, who was executed for coup plotting during the regime of former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

It was gathered that family members, friends and sympathisers have been visiting the home of the deceased
