The event is aimed to reward the best in the movie sector. It is set to play host to a large number of Northern movie stars, either to receive awards or just to be part of the event. City People’s BUNMI OKOTIE compiles a list of 30 Kannywood stars, who are set to storm Lagos.
SADIQ SANI SADIQ
Sadiq is a popular actor, who has registered his name as an A-class Kannywood actor. He started acting in 2004 and got his major break in a movie entitled: Danmarayan Zaki in 2012.He keeps redefining himself each passing day and has won the admiration of movie fans in the north. Many preferred to call him Gambo Uban-Tani.
ALI NUHU He is one of the big boys in the Kannywood movie industry. Aside the numerous endorsement deals in his knapsack, he has appeared in hundreds of Hausa and English films. The 43-year- old actor, who is also a producer and Director, is mostly referred to as the King of Kannywood and has been active for a long time. He is the most decorated actor in Kannywood with various categories of awards to his credit.
ADAMU A. ZANGO: Adamu is another A-class actor who is very successful both in the music and movie industry in the north.JAMILA UMARCalm, modest and gorgeous are all attributes of Jamila, Kannywood’s super actress. She is the only female Hausa actress, who had been endorsed as a Globacom ambassador and to have co-star red with one of the Bollywood gallant players, Johnny Lever, in the First Kannywood film shot in India. The multiple-award winning actresses has been able to stay relevant in the industry. She has dazzled in over 200 movies, which include: Jamila da Jamilu, which brought her to the limelight.
HADIZA ALIYU GABON:
The very pretty Gabonese actress is a shinning star among her peers, born in the city of Libreville, the capital of Gabon, to a Gabonese Father and a Nigerian Mother, who is from Adamawa State. She joined the industry after relocating to Nigeria in 2009, but had a little challenge to breakthrough because of her inability to speak Hausa fluently as she could only speak French, she had to learn the Hausa language.

Tall, handsome, light in complexion actor makes more impact in directing and music. But years back, he succumbed to the call of his fans to venture into acting and his impressive performance has induced producers to be knocking on his doors to book him for their movies.

Hassan is one of the most talented Kannywood movie directors. He is one of the biggest names and his movies are usually vividly expressive, making them a must watch. The eloquent director has directed over 50 movies, which include Hindu, Sarauniya, Macijiya, Ukuba, Basira Bayajidda among many others.
MARYAM BOOTH:
She joined the industry at the age of 8 through her mother, Hajia Zainab Booth, who is also an actress. She grew up in an entertainment family. Her elder sister, Sadiya, was an actress but quit acting after her marriage to a Kannywood actor, Yakubu Mohammed. She is one of the most talked about actress with great potential.

Call him Kannywood’s biggest producer and you won’t be wrong. The former NDLEA officer-turned- movie producer is the CEO of Rite Time Multimedia. He is the producer of Kannywood blockbuster movie, Hindu, and many others.
FATIMA ABDULLAHI WASHA:
Fati is not only a talented actress but also very pretty and always looking ravishing. Her good looks, coupled with her large number of fans have been an advantage to her in the industry.
LAWAN AHMED:
Lawan has been active in the industry for 15 years under FKD production outfit owned by star actor, Ali Nuhu. Lawan who hit the limelight in a movie entitled: Dijangala in 2008, has great potential. Mostly, he plays supporting roles and always delivers impressively.
NAZIRU AWAL (Dan Hajiya):
Dan Hajia, as he popularly called, is an example of hard work and determination; he is one of the biggest and most sought- after producer. Some of the block buster movies he has produced are Hanyar Kano, Asibitin Kauye, Hajia Babba, Uwa Tafi Uwa.
HANNATU BASHIR:
