Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo is planning BIG for his birthday this year. We can tell you that authoritatively. Kennedy is a big real estate player. He is also the Founder/Group CEO of NedcomOaks Group. He is the Chairman of Victoria Crest Homes. Both firms are big real estate companies which specialize in building luxury apartments at affordable prices, via a flexible payment structure. He has made many upwardly mobile executives landlords. He built all his estates in the Lekki axis of Lagos.

The big news is that on 12th October 2019,  Okonkwo will play host to an entrepreneurship programme for Tech Start-Ups and the Venue is Atlantic Mall, along Chevron Drive, Lekki.

The event is to mark his birthday, which falls on that day. Kennedy Okonkwo is an entrepreneur who likes to help other entrepreneurs especially young and budding ones. Why did he decide to do take up that task, we asked him, a few days ago. “I have looked at the world and I have found out that there is a great deal of opportunities in the Tech business. And I feel that there are so many people doing very well who have dreams and ideas, but who don’t have the means, and opportunities of getting Grants, Loans & Finance, to kick-start their ideas and their ideas are crawling and we need to push it with a little bit of finance. I just feel there are so many opportunities in the Tech Start-Up sector. I come from the Telecom sector. I was in the Telecom sector while doing my 9 am to 5 pm job. I moved on to other things before I joined and focused on Real Estate full time. So, I see it as a great opportunity to bring together people who have brilliant Tech ideas that are financeable, bankable and we would support them, provide them finance, provide them mentorship, provide them training, provide them all the support they need to ensure that they succeed. It’s not just about giving them the money.”

“You can give someone the money and he can go to a nightclub to fritter the money away. We need to teach them and teach them right.” What are the lessons that young people can learn from his life and learn from how he had to struggle through life to make a success of his passion to succeed? What was his background like? Who helped him? These and many more were the questions we asked him.

“A lot of these stories are online. I tell my stories every day on my Instagram handle where I mentor young people aspiring to be successful. More of the stories will actually be told in my book that I am writing.

But what is important to be said is that: Rome was never built in a day. People should learn to crawl before they learn to fly.”

“I always tell people this: Everything is achievable. Every dream you have for yourself is valid. The only question you must ask yourself is: Am I willing to work for it? If you are willing to work for it, it will surely come to you. Good things come to those who work for them and believe in God”.
