Nothing short of a class described the ambience and beauty displayed at the Lagos Hall, NITEL premises in Mushin on Saturday, October 21, 2018, as a popular matriarch, Mrs Adeola Adeluola celebrated her 70th birthday in grand style.
The glamour and strength mama who is fondly called G.A by her folks and children displayed as she gallantly danced her way into the auditorium would make anyone not so familiar with her think that she was just a younger guest even at the age of 70. Radiantly dressed in an embroidered lace and a purple headgear to match, Mama was accompanied to her reserved table of honour by her family, friends and well-wishers in a display of royalty that she truly represented.
Mama who is a very strong member of the Second Coming of Christ Ministries (SCCM) had earlier held a thanksgiving service at the church auditorium situated at no 11 Bankole Street, off Owokoniran, Surulere, Lagos.
PASTOR WALE ADEKANMI SAYS OPENING PRAYER
Mama has always been known to be a prayerful mother and lover of God, so it was only customary to begin her big day with prayers. One of her respected ministers of God, Pastor Wale Adekanmi was invited to the podium by the event anchor to usher everyone into the presence of God and he did very briefly to mark the opening of the long-awaited birthday celebration.
FATHER & MOTHER OF THE DAY
A beautifully dressed couple, Alhaji Lateef Akinsanya and his wife, were the couple of the day. They practically had a lot to say about mama’s nice attitude towards her children and that of others, her ability to correct in love and stand tall to defend anyone who is being cheated irrespective of who the person was but time would not permit them to go too deep about the celebrant.
NOLLYWOOD STAR OLOHUN IYO ANCHORS THE EVENT
The event would go down memory lane as popular Nollywood Yoruba star, Olasunkanmi Akanni a.k.a Olohun Iyo who won the prestigious City People movie awards as the most promising Yoruba actor of the year 2017 anchored the event. His performance beat most expectations as he brilliantly carried the old and new generations in his audience along without leaving any gap in-between. One of the talking points was the way he conveniently mimicked several legendary Nollywood Yoruba actors like Iya Niwe, Iya Awero, Lalude, Jide Kosoko, etc.
Mc Afoh equally thrilled the audience with series of comedy. He left everyone practically laughing out loud to complement the effort of the anchor in a display of competence and teamwork by the duo.
DJ A PLUS SERENADES AUDIENCE
Lagos based Disc Jockey, A Plus is a household name in the Mushin axis of Lagos, he was saddled with the responsibility of entertaining the guests with music and the expertise he displayed only told the audience that he is indeed experienced in the game. DJ A plus’ ability to mix the oldies with current trends of music was a perfect match for the kind of audience that gathered to celebrate G.A that evening.

Orange was the colour of the day as virtually every guest slayed in beautifully patterned lace material. The cap and headgear was an Ofi material with striped orange and gold pattern. The beauty of the material really showed when the guests sat in groups.
EYES LONELY LIVE BAND THRILLS AUDIENCE
There’s no doubt that a typical Yoruba owambe cannot be said to be complete without a live band and a very good one at that, often complements the party mood. That was the story of the Eyes Lonely Live Band when they finally mounted the podium to do what they know how to do best. The MC kept hailing this band not just for their good performances alone but also for the way they were able to blend their music to entertain the old and young generations present at the event.
MAMA’S CHILDREN THROW SPECIAL DANCE FOR THE CELEBRANT
Mama’s children, Tunde Adeluola, Rotimi Adeluola, Olumide Adeluola, Mama Farida and Mama Ayo were all dressed in captivating white attire as they mount up the dance floor to celebrate the latest septuagenarian of the day. It was indeed a day full of joy for G.A as she was surrounded by her children, their spouses and grandchildren in the celebration of a worthy life.
CUTTING OF CAKE
For a woman who has spent all her life to raising her children in a godly way, and has led them to attain success in their chosen careers, the three-step giant cake presented by the children to honour and appreciate mama.
It was a three-step giant cake that took the effort the effort of two hefty men before it landed at the designated position. The cake was beautifully decorated in white and pink.
The most interest aspect of the cutting of the cake was the lighting effect that pumped out as soon as Mama slides the knife downward. It was just as like a world cup presentation as everywhere became bright and well sparkled to give the event another talking point.
HON RAMOTA AKINOLA HASSAN SPEAKS ABOUT G.A
Honourable Ramota Akinola Hassan, the chairperson of Ori Ade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) who also doubles as the chairperson of the special occasion had a little to say about Mama. She explained that every encounter she has had with G.A was always a blessing, she encouraged other women to emulate her good attributes and also remain prayerful as it is a tool for raising good children.
MC OLUOMO SHOWS MAMA SOME LOVE
Popular Lagos socialite, MC Oluomo was part of the big story at Mama G.A’s birthday gig. Although he was not physically present, Oluomo sent representatives of not less than 13 people who came in customised face cap with G.A@70 inscribed on it. Their entrance was indeed superb as they queued on a straight line to salute Mama before taking their seats.
SHELET CATERING SERVICES PROVIDES MEAL
The event cannot be completely talked about without mentioning the professionalism put up by Shelet Catering Services. They served jollof rice, amala with gbegiri and ewedu, fried rice and chicken, etc. Everyone present ate and was satisfied.
