Lagos socialite, Prince Adelowo Adedeji turned 75 recently and he had a very private party at his palatial mansion in Lekki, Lagos. It was a well packaged event which started with a morning Praise and worship followed by an open house party in the evening. The purple colour code event started with praise and worship which was led by pastors from the Anglican Communion. The celebrant was overjoyed as he was accompanied by his wife, Tope Adedeji. The celebrant wore a nice white outfit and complemented it with a purple cap while his wife dazzled in a purple lace and purple Aso Oke. Guests arrived in numbers to attend the event and it was a full house as many dignatries stormed the Adedeji Lekki residence. The birthday was tagged “75 years of Gods grace and favour”.
It was in his house people had breakfast, then launch. He decided to host a praise and worship session because he never knew he could enjoy God’s grace to attain 75. Everyone participated in the worship while a gospel music band was in charge of all the hymns and songs rendered. Prince Adelowo is a man after Gods heart and this shows in all the programme. He was praising and thanking God for bringing him that far. Infact, his cake design was in form of a bible. He participated in bible reading for his birthday and was thankful to all the guests who turned up.
He was excited as he thanked the guests and prayed for them for turning up for his birthday. He was grateful to God and shared with all, his journey of life in the last 75 years, how God has been faithful to him, kept him all through and how he scaled through his many ordeals..
“I wasted 4 years doing load carrier in the market.but the almighty God that I worship is a God of miracles and wonders. After university, I got a job at Lever Brothers. In the process, 9 months, after confirmation, the Manager died who is a top management, and the Chairman, Omolayole announced that, I, Adedeji should go and act for him,I was very surprised and shocked, I told myself, what is all this? 2 official cars, 2 drivers, weekly allowance of 500 naira in 1974, I was very amazed as well. People started saying, this elevation of mine must be Jazz that they have never seen this type of elevation before. Because we have 2 restaurants, one for the middle class, one for the top management, that is where I was eating, eating with the chairmen, eating with the directors. At a stage, when the trouble and problem started, I had to resign. When I get to my office in the morning, I will meet chicken sacrifice at my office door. The enemies did everything to bring me down but I trusted in my God. Till today, when I resigned, my chairman did not accept my resignation. He told me he wants me to be on that job for 2 years and I will be confirmed. But I live by the word of the Lord, here I am today, God took away all my sorrows, because those who have gone far ahead of me for four years at that time, I overtook them. My office was about 40ft 1m, with 2 secretaries, I was not spending my salary, I will go to Maiduguri, go to Calabar , go everywhere, it was all fun, paying for hotel, paying for allowances, I was just surprised. In my mind, I will ask God, what is all this? How can I thank him enough?, I left Lever Brothers to go for my MBA, out of all my contemporaries in my class, I was the best in my class. Everybody offered me pay cheques to teach them , paid me more than everyone else. One professor from Harvard, said there is something in me that is different so he began to mentor me. This is my life, he has blessed me with everything. I thank God”.
Popularly called Obafoot, Prince Adelowo Adedeji is a staunch business man who has hands in many businesses. He is known to be a big a financier of many political parties, especially in Osun State where he comes from. He shares a great friendship with the former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. He is a socialite to the core. He is always invited to many A.list parties in Lagos and beyond. His signature cap is one of his style mantras, you will always see his cap high up. He also loves to wear good jewelries, the long coral mixed with gold jewelry which befits his status. He is happily married and blessed with amazing children.
Many dignatries showed up on his birthday, amongst them were the great professor from Unilag, Professor Duro Oni, Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa and wife, Alara of Ilara, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, former MD of first bank, Bisi Onasanya, lie bintin club members and many others.
