MRS. FIMISOLA AUGUSTA AZEEZ
Mrs. Fimisola Augusta Azeez was born in Lagos on August 6, 1964 to Elder Thomas Oriola Opadele from Ode-Remo in Ogun State and Chief (Mrs). Maria Abeke Opadele. She attended Mount Carmel Convent Primary School, Ebute-Metta, Lagos from 1972 to 1977 for her primary education. For her secondary education, she attended Marywood Grammar School, Ebute-Metta, Lagos from 1977 to 1981. She then went to Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, Lagos for her General Certificate of Education, Advanced Level between 1981 and 1983. She studied Law at the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria from 1983 to 1988, graduating in 1988. She attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos from 1988 to 1989 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in December 1989.
She completed her National Youth Service from 1990 to 1991 with the Law Firm of Bayo Aluko-Olokun & Co. In May 2022, she became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC). She began her law practice with the Law Firm of Chief Kunle Oyewo & Co from 1993 to 1999 and was appointed a Magistrate Grade 11 in the Lagos State Judiciary in November 1999. She advanced to Chief Magistrate (Admin) in July 2017 and Deputy Chief Registrar (Special Duties), Ikeja in February 2022.
While serving on the Lower Bench, she held several positions including Chairman of the Surulere Rent Tribunal and Chairman of the Family Court in Ikorodu and Mushin Local Government Areas. As Deputy Chief Registrar (Special Duties) Ikeja, she was Secretary of the Committee on the Proposed Customary Court of Appeal for Lagos State, a member of the Committee on the Review of the High Court of Lagos State Fees Law, and a member of the Committee on the Review of the Schedule of Fees of the Magistrates’ Court Law. She chaired the MAN, Lagos Branch Committee on the Amendment of the Magistrates’ Court Law and served on the 2021 Lagos State Local Government Election Petition Panel led by Hon. Justice A.S. Onigbanjo (Rtd). She participated in numerous trainings and workshops as Chairman of the Lagos State Family Court and as a regular court Magistrate, both within and outside Nigeria.
As a Magistrate, she received a Merit Award from the then Hon. Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice O.O. Oke, in October 2018 and an Award of Excellence from the Hon. Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem O. Alogba, in December 2023. While serving as Chief Magistrate (Admin), Ikorodu Magisterial District, Ikorodu, she was awarded by the NBA, Ikorodu Branch for her support to the NBA, Ikorodu Branch, and her contributions to the promotion of justice and legal aid to indigents and the helpless in Ikorodu in July 2019.
In January 2021, after her appointment as Head of Department, Deputy Sheriff Section, Ikeja, the NBA, Ikorodu Branch presented her with a Distinguished Jurist Award on January 27, 2021. She is happily married to Chief Raheem Adebimpe Azeez, a legal practitioner, and blessed with children.
- ALFRED AKINGBOLA GEORGE
Mr. Alfred Akingbola George was born in Surulere, Lagos on September 6, 1964 to the family of late Claudius Olatunji Akingunmi George from Olowogbowo, Lagos Island, and Mrs. Christiana Olubunmi Ige George (née Alaja-Brown), also from Lagos.
He attended Bishop Howell’s Memorial Primary School in Surulere, Baptist Academy Obanikoro for his secondary education and A Levels. He graduated from Lagos State University (LASU) and has been in legal practice for over 30 years, having been called to the Bar in June 1991 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Mr. George then proceeded for NYSC, serving as Legal Officer in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State of Nigeria. He practiced consistently in private practice at the Chambers of late Chief Debo Akande (SAN), Olakunle Morohundiya, and late Chief Olabiyi Durojaiye, among others. He joined the service of the Lagos State Government as a State Counsel in December 2001.
His trajectory in the Lagos State Public Service traversed several agencies and departments of government. He was a Prosecuting Counsel with the Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Court, counsel in the Office of the Administrator General and Public Trustee, in-house counsel in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, and counsel in the Directorate of Civil Litigation.
Before this appointment, he was a Director in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions in charge of coroner’s inquests in the state, representing the Ministry of Justice at the Pathology Department LASUTH in identifying bodies recovered state-wide during the End SARS protest, the Gerard Road Ikoyi building collapse Fourscore inquest, Dowen School inquest, and Mohbad inquest, among others.
He was the Head of the Advisory Group on the issuance of legal advice, a member of the Plea Bargain Review Committee, and lead counsel in several criminal courts, including those of Hon. Justice Ipaye, Hon. Justice Akinkugbe, Hon. Justice Soladoye, and Hon. Justice Obadina, prosecuting several criminal cases ranging from defilement/rape cases to homicide, armed robbery, and kidnapping. Due to his notable erudite skills, he was sent as lead facilitator to Kaduna State to lecture judges, magistrates, and area court judges on the implementation of the District Prosecutors practice. He also delivered lectures in Akwa Ibom State on the implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law using the Lagos template.
He is a member of the training team regularly sent to train the police in Lagos formations on criminal justice administration. He is a qualified Chartered Secretary (ICSAN), a member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), and a member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).
He is the Assistant Provincial Pastor (CSR) in the Redeemed Christian Church of God Lagos Province 69. He is married to Pastor Mrs. Abosede Oluwakemi George (FCIPM), who is also a lawyer and currently the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission. The union is blessed with children.
- YEWANDE BADEJO-OKUSANYA
Ms. Yewande Badejo-Okusanya, born on September 20, 1969 in Lagos, is the daughter of Chief Emmanuel Badejo Okusanya and Mrs. Olasunmbo Badejo-Okusanya (née Omololu). She began her education at Grange School, Ikeja (1974-1981), and continued at Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos (1981-1986), where she obtained her O’Level Certificate. She graduated from Lagos State University with an LLB (Hons) in 1986 and attended the Nigerian Law School in 1990, being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. She began her legal career in 1996 at Chief Rotimi Williams Chambers, where she gained foundational expertise in legal practice. In 2001, she joined the Lagos State Judiciary and was sworn in as a Magistrate by the late Honourable Justice Christopher Segun. Over the years, she served in various Magisterial Districts, including Ikeja, Ebute-Metta, Ikoyi, and Igbosere. Her dedication and exemplary service led to her promotion to Chief Magistrate Grade 1, and in 2017, she was appointed Head of Litigation and Fast Track at Igbosere, Lagos.
By November 2021, she had ascended to Chief Magistrate Admin Grade Level 17. Before her recent appointment as a Judge, Ms. Badejo-Okusanya served as the Deputy Chief Registrar, Special Duties, Lagos. She was also a member of the Lagos State Local Government Elections Petition Tribunal in 2017, under the chairmanship of Honourable Justice A. Olateru-Olagbegi. Throughout her career, Ms. Badejo-Okusanya attended numerous professional development trainings and courses, both locally and internationally. She is a member of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association, was admitted to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch) in 2011, and was awarded a Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators in 2022. Her contributions extend beyond her judicial duties. In 2019, she served as a resource person for training newly appointed Customary Court Presidents and Members in Lagos State. She also chaired the Magistrates Retreat Committee in 2022 and 2023. Ms. Badejo-Okusanya is the proud mother of two children and a grandmother, embodying a balance of professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
MRS. ADENIKE KUDIRAT SHONUBI
Mrs. Adenike Kudirat Shonubi was born on November 29, 1966 to Prince Ademola Liadi Ogun and Madam Adunni Sikirat Alli Balogun. She hails from Orugbo-Iddo, Ikosi Ejinrin Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
She completed her primary education at Government Demonstration School Igbaja, Onitolo, Lagos State, from 1972 to 1978. For her secondary education, she attended Regan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos State, from 1978 to 1984, and Muslim College Ijebu Ode from 1984 to 1985.
Mrs. Shonubi obtained her Advanced Level Certificate from Ogun State School of Basic Studies, Ijebu Ode, between 1986 and 1988. She earned her first degree in Law (LLB) from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) from 1989 to 1992 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1993 after attending the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Driven by a passion for education, she earned a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Lagos, Akoka, in 2000, and another Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies (MHRS) from the same university in 2014. Additionally, she obtained an Advanced Certificate in Industrial and Labour Relations from the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, Ilorin, in 2019.
Mrs. Shonubi practiced law actively from 1994 to 1999 before being appointed as a Magistrate Grade Level 11 by the Lagos State Judiciary in November 1999. Through hard work, she advanced steadily, adjudicating numerous criminal and civil cases across all districts of the Lagos State Judiciary. She became Chief Magistrate (Admin.) Grade Level 17 on July 1, 2017.
In 2017, she was appointed Deputy Chief Registrar Special Duties and has since served as Deputy Chief Registrar (Legal 1&2) and Deputy Chief Registrar (Admin, Lagos). Before her elevation to the higher bench, she was the Deputy Chief Registrar, Administration Lagos.
Mrs. Shonubi has also held several significant roles, including Chairman of the Rent Control Tribunal (2001-2007), Chairman of Family Court (2015), Head of Department for the Official Receiver Section (2008/2009), Deputy Sheriff for six months (June to December 2009), and Head of the Litigation Section (July 2015 to January 2016).
She has served as Secretary for various committees, such as the Policy and Strategy Committee (2013), Probate and Related Matters (2018), and Bail Bond Committee (Member 2019). Currently, she is the Secretary of the Small Claims Court Committee, a position she has held since 2019. The committee, established in 2018, has seen the Lagos State Small Claims Court receive the Nigerian Presidential Award in 2019, 2020, and 2022 for improving the World Bank Ease of Doing Business (Contract Enforcement Indicator) in Nigeria.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Shonubi has attended numerous seminars and conferences sponsored by the Lagos State Judiciary and other agencies. She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) Nigeria and a member of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association, Magistrate Association of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Mrs. Shonubi has received two awards recognizing her excellence, hard work, and dedication to the Lagos State Judiciary. One of these awards was presented by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem O. Alogba, on December 22, 2020.
Resilient, determined, enthusiastic, and dedicated, Mrs. Shonubi is married to Mr. Nurudeen Oluwasegun Shonubi, and they are blessed with children.
MRS. OYELADUN AMOPE LAYINKA
Mrs. Oyeladun Amope Layinka was born on December 7, 1970 in Ilorin, Kwara State. She hails from Ogbomoso, Oyo State. She began her primary education at St. Richard Catholic Primary School, Jericho Reservation, Eleyele, Ibadan. She then attended Oluyole High School, Ring Road, Ibadan for her secondary education. She proceeded to Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile Ife, for her ‘A’ level studies.
She studied Law at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, and graduated in 1993. She attended the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, in 1994. She was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on March 22, 1995. She began her legal career with the Law Firms of Iwara Ofem and Co., Ugep, Cross River State as a Youth Corper, T. O. A. Abdullahi and Co., 125, Igbosere Road, Lagos, and R. A. Jolowo and Co., Plot 3, Festac Town 1st Gate, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Mrs. Layinka joined the Lagos State Judiciary as a Magistrate Grade II Level 10 on May 22, 2001, and rose through the ranks to Chief Magistrate (Admin) Grade 17 in 2021. In her role as a Magistrate, she has held several designated appointments including Magistrate in charge of the Environment Court, Revenue Magistrate, and currently, Family Court Chairman, in addition to her general adjudication of civil and criminal matters.
Throughout her career in the Magistracy, she has attended several courses and seminars courtesy of the Lagos State Judiciary. These include training on forensic examination, Multidoor Courthouse Mediation procedures, information technology, non-custodial sentences (community service/diversion), trainings by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of Lagos on various legal principles, tax adjudication in Lagos State at the lower court, and application of Family Court laws and procedures, among others.
Mrs. Layinka attended the National Institute for Labour Studies, Ilorin, Kwara State, where she obtained an Advanced Certificate in Industrial Labour Relations in 2019. She is a certified fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC-Nigeria).
Her parents were Olawuyi Atanda Michael Adegoke (father) and Adenihun Olawuyi (née Ogunlade Adepoju) (mother). She is happily married to Abiodun Richards Layinka, a Chartered Accountant from Awe, Oyo State, and they are blessed with a son, Obanimi Mogbadebo Opeyemi Layinka. She is also an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
MR TUNDE BASHIRU SUNMONU
Mr. Tunde Bashiru Sunmonu was born on February 13, 1974 in Ikoga Zebbe, Badagry, Lagos State, to Mr. Godonu Sunmonu and Mrs. Asi Sunmonu. He completed his primary education at St. Leo’s Primary School in Ikoga Zebbe, where he was appointed Senior Prefect. He then attended Ikoga Grammar School, graduating in 1991 with two distinctions and seven credits, including English and Mathematics.
In 1995, he was admitted to study Law at Lagos State University, Ojo. He excelled academically, graduating as the Best Student in 1999 with a 4.3 GPA. Sunmonu was called to the Nigerian Bar in January 2001 and completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2002.
From 2002 to May 2004, he worked with Professor I.O. Smith, honing his legal advocacy and research skills. In May 2004, he joined the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Alausa-Ikeja, as a State Counsel. His exceptional advocacy skills and professionalism led to his rapid promotion through various positions, culminating in his role as Deputy Director in January 2022. He was recently appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State.
During his tenure at the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Sunmonu served as a State Prosecutor at the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Unit, Alausa. He managed both prosecution and defense for the Lagos State Government. In the Department of Public Prosecutions, he vetted legal advice, prosecuted criminal cases at both the Magistrate and High Courts, and defended the state in actions at both the State High Court and the Federal High Court.
Sunmonu has delivered lectures and training for police prosecutors and investigators on various aspects of criminal investigation and prosecution. Some notable engagements include the ROLAC Police Training Programme on Reforms on the Administration of Criminal Justice (Amendment) Law 2021, Admissibility of Public Documents under the Evidence Act 2011, In-House Training on Criminal Responsibility and Classification of Parties to an Offence, and Online Training on Case Preparation and Trial Advocacy for Prosecutors.
Throughout his career, Sunmonu has attended numerous training sessions and courses. These include a 3-day training for enhancing legal and governance skills organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Establishment and Training in collaboration with Aluko and Oyebode, Forensic/DNA Evidence and its application in prosecutions, Trial advocacy and handling cases involving children in conflict with the law, Handling child victims of crime and child witnesses, Plea bargain system and its relevance to the criminal justice system, Handling vulnerable witnesses, Arbitration training on Lagos State Civil Procedure Rules 2019, Judicial Actors: United Nations Convention Against Torture, The role of ADR in criminal justice administration, and Reforms of the criminal justice system.
In his leisure time, Sunmonu enjoys reading, listening to music, watching movies, and travelling. He is a devout believer in God and is married with three children.
- RUSSELL MUSILIU ADEWALE
Mr. Russell Musiliu Adewale was born on June 19, 1979 into the family of Otunba Rafiu Oyedele Adewale and Olori Airat Omolara Adewale. He hails from Ewu-Elepe Compound, Aga, in the Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State. He attended New Town Development Primary School, Festac Town, Lagos, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1989. He then proceeded to St. Gregory’s College, Obalende, and Supreme Education Foundation, Magodo, where he obtained his West African Examination Council Certificate in 1995.
Mr. Adewale was admitted to study Law at Lagos State University (LASU), graduating in 2002. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 2003. He completed his mandatory National Youth Service Corps at the Federal Legal Aid Council in Abeokuta, Ogun State. During his service at the Federal Legal Aid Council, he developed a passion for the administration of the criminal justice system by assisting male and female inmates who were unlawfully detained in Abeokuta Prison.
Mr. Adewale began his private law practice with Segun Demuren & Co., where he gained substantial legal experience by appearing in all superior courts of record. He joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 2007 and was initially deployed to the Directorate for Citizens’ Rights, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Alausa Secretariat. Among his notable achievements at the Directorate was the compilation of the first-ever statistics of stakeholders’ performance at the “One Stop” Justice Center. This data was included in the draft of the Lagos State child and family welfare system manual, compiled by UNICEF in conjunction with USAID.
He also served as state counsel to the Tribunal of Inquiry into Building Collapse in Lagos State, inaugurated by Governor Babatunde Fashola in 2013. He was later deployed as the Legal Officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). In this capacity, he appeared and conducted cases at State and Federal High Courts, as well as the Court of Appeal. He was involved in implementing the Protocol for Enforcement of Traffic Law: Arrest, Investigation, and Prosecution, now part of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018.
In 2020, he was deployed to the Department of Public Prosecution, where he secured numerous judgments during the prosecution and enforcement of Fundamental Rights suits challenging the prosecutorial authority of the Honourable Attorney-General. He is a member of the Fundamental Rights Unit, Cold Case Committee, and Plea Bargain Review Committee, responsible for making recommendations to the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice regarding plea bargain applications by defendants.
Mr. Adewale is a qualified Chartered Secretary (ICSAN & ICSA U.K) and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Lagos, obtained in 2011. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Nigerian Bar Association. He has attended various conferences and training programs that have significantly contributed to his managerial and professional skills.
His hobbies include reading, football, and volunteering. He is married to Mrs. Alaba Adewale, a bank manager at Globus Bank. The union is blessed with children.
- NALIRAT OLAYINKA OLUWATOSIN OJUROMI
Ms. Nalirat Olayinka Oluwatosin Ojuromi was born on April 13, 1978 into the esteemed Liasu Rufai Tokosi family of Isale-Eko and the renowned Issa Williams family of Olowogobowo. She began her education at Saint Mary’s Private School, Broad Street, Ajele, Lagos, attending from 1982 to 1989. She then proceeded to the prestigious Queen’s College Yaba, Lagos, from 1990 to 1995, where she obtained her West African Examination Council O’Level Certificate.
Ms. Ojuromi pursued higher education at Lagos State University, Ojo, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2002. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar on November 11, 2005. Additionally, she is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.
Ms. Ojuromi began her legal career as a Legal Officer at Aircom Nigeria Limited before joining the Lagos State Civil Service as a State Counsel with the Ministry of Justice in June 2006. She was later seconded to the legal unit of the Lands Bureau, where she rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Chief State Counsel due to her exceptional skills and expertise. She was a member of the sub-committee on the harmonization of leases granted by Government Housing Agencies, tasked with perfecting the titles of homeowners with L.S.D.P.C, L.B.I.C, and the Lagos State Ministry of Housing.
In 2014, Ms. Ojuromi successfully applied to the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission and was appointed as a Magistrate Grade 2. Demonstrating strong work ethics and a profound passion for adjudication, she served in various magisterial districts, including Surulere, Ebute-Metta, Yaba, and Igbosere. She played a pivotal role as one of the pioneer magistrates for the mobile courts and small claims courts, which remain highly effective in ensuring the swift dispensation of justice.
Ms. Ojuromi is an avid supporter of Shanu Carers, an NGO created by her family members that feeds the less privileged in society. She also supports various other charities, including those for children living with cancer. Her love for education drives her support for charities promoting early reading and education for children. A selfless community person, she dedicates her time to the promotion of female education and empowerment.
Ms. Ojuromi is blessed with a son. Outside her profession, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and walking. Her commitment to personal and community development is evident in her various activities and support for charitable causes.
- ADEGBOYEGA GANIU BALOGUN
Mr. Adegboyega Ganiu Balogun was born on April 21, 1983 in Lagos Island to Alhaji Prince Nasiru Adebayo Balogun (of blessed memory) and Alhaja Adiat Balogun. He is a descendant of the notable Balogun Lafayo of Ita-Opo, in the Ebode quarters of Epe, and has maternal roots in the Bakare family of Ita Balogun and Kazeem-Aralawon family of Isale-Eko, Lagos Island.
Balogun began his education at Aunty Ayo Preparatory School, Ikoyi, and completed his primary education at St. David’s Anglican Primary School, Okesuna, Lagos Island, where he earned his first school leaving certificate in 1994. He attended Methodist Boys’ High School, Lagos, graduating in 2000 with the West African Senior School Certificate. At MBHS, he was distinguished in both academics and extracurricular activities.
In 2001, he enrolled in the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU), where he graduated with a Second Class Upper Division Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons)) in 2008. During his time at LASU, Balogun excelled academically and was actively involved in extracurricular activities. He served as a student advocate and Senior Partner at Equity Law Firm Student Chambers, President of the Student’s Court of Appeal/Chairman of the Judicial Council in the 2007/2008 session, and Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Student Advocates Association. Additionally, he was the President of the National Association of Muslim Law Students, roles that helped develop his leadership skills.
After LASU, Balogun attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos campus, graduating with a Second-Class Upper Division. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2009 as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Delta State in 2010.
Balogun pursued further academic advancement at the University of Ibadan, earning his Master of Laws (LL.M) in 2012 with high honours, qualifying him for a doctorate program enrolment.
Before joining the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, Balogun worked as an Associate at Awoliyi, Sunmola & Associates, Lagos, gaining experience in courtroom advocacy and corporate and commercial law practice. He joined the Court of Appeal in 2013, rising to become the Principal Registrar in the Litigation Department and Head of the Appeal Unit in 2018, where he managed the compilation and transmission of records of appeal to the Supreme Court. In 2023, he was on special assignment as the Assistant Secretary, National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal, Rivers State.
Balogun is a member of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria. He has numerous publications and has served as an adjunct lecturer at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo. During his postgraduate studies, he was a legal clinician focused on women’s and children’s legal protection, significantly impacting the Women’s Law Clinic at the University of Ibadan.
He is married to Kehinde Husseinat Balogun, Esq., and they have lovely children.
- TANIMOLA ABDUL-WAHEED ANJORIN-AJOSE
Mr. Tanimola Abdul-Waheed Anjorin-Ajose was born on April 17, 1985 in Anjorin/Oke-Abiye Town, an Awori settlement in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. He comes from a royal family, being the son of late Alhaji Jelili Akinreola Anjorin-Ajose and late Alhaja Barakat Abiola Anjorin-Ajose. He began his education at Mother’s Joy Nursery & Primary School, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in August 1994. He continued his education at Lagos State Model College, Meiran, earning his West African Senior School Certificate in July 2001.
Mr. Anjorin-Ajose pursued higher education at Lagos State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and International Studies. He later obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the same university and proceeded to the University of Lagos for a Master of Laws degree. In 2012, he was called to the Nigerian Bar and became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Nigeria Branch.
From 2012 to 2018, Mr. Anjorin-Ajose worked as a litigation lawyer in some of Nigeria’s leading law firms, advising individual and corporate clients on various legal matters, including civil, criminal, corporate, commercial, and employment disputes, as well as breaches of fundamental human rights and election petitions. He completed his mandatory National Youth Service at the law firm of ‘Lasun Sanusi, SAN & Co. between November 2012 and October 2013. After his service year, he joined Idowu Sofola, SAN & Co. as an Associate from November 2013 to October 2015. He then served as the Head of Litigation Practice at Cass Legal from 2015 to 2018.
In 2018, Mr. Anjorin-Ajose was appointed as a Magistrate in the Lagos State Judiciary, a position he held until 2024. His extensive knowledge of civil and criminal procedures, along with his expertise in conflict management and alternative dispute resolution, significantly contributed to his judicial duties. He is dedicated to improving the justice delivery system, utilizing his skills to ensure the effective and speedy dispensation of cases.
- OLAWALE LAWAL ALEBIOSU
Mr. Olawale Lawal Alebiosu was born on March 24, 1978 in the Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State to the family of the late Alhaji Mustapha Babatunde Alebiosu and Alhaja Fausat Gbemisola Alebiosu. He is the firstborn of his family and has four sisters. He hails from the Ogunmade Chieftaincy Family of Lagos Island, Lagos State. He is married to Modinat Abiola Alebiosu, and the union is blessed with children.
He attended African Church Primary School, Akinogun, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He then proceeded to Baptist Boys’ High School, Saje, Abeokuta, Ogun State, for his secondary education from 1991 to 1996, obtaining his West African Secondary School Certificate.
He joined the prestigious Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos State, between 1998 and 2002, where he obtained his LL.B Degree. He subsequently proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, between 2004 and 2005, where he obtained his BL. He pursued a Master’s degree in Maritime and Commercial Law (LL.M) in 2018 at Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State.
Before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Olawale Lawal, Alebiosu worked as an intern at Bayo Oriere & Co. between 2003 and 2004. He also interned at the law firm of Olalekan Yusuf & Co. in 2005 shortly after writing his Bar Finals until he went to serve his country as a Youth Corps member.
He completed his mandatory National Youth Service between 2006 and 2007 in Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State. Upon returning from NYSC, he joined the law firm of Olalekan Yusuf & Co. as a Junior Counsel, where he rose to the position of Head of Chambers in 2008. He held this position until his appointment as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State. The law firm is now known as Olalekan Yusuf SAN & Co. May the soul of the founder, late Chief Olalekan Yusuf, SAN, rest in peace.
Since his call to the bar on November 8, 2005, he has handled numerous matters in court for corporate clients and private individuals from the lowest courts to superior courts of record.
He is a member of the Ikeja Branch (Tiger Branch) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Beyond his professional duties, Olawale Lawal, Alebiosu is dedicated to community service and has provided pro bono services to the underprivileged within his community. He is committed to the development of law and the timely dispensation of justice, reflected in his judicial philosophy promoting fairness, equity, and protection of fundamental human rights.
He is an advocate for continuous learning, participating in seminars and legal workshops to stay updated on the latest legal trends and developments.
- ABDUL-RAHEEM TEJUMADE MUYIDEEN
Mr. Muyideen Abdul-Raheem Tejumade was born on February 9, 1975 in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State, to Chief Akinsanya Atanda Muyideen, Baale of Igbo Oja Kekere of Baale Compound, Igbo-Oja Kekere, and Mrs. Aisha Akinsanya (née Abdullah). He attended Unity Primary School, Ajido Badagry, from 1982 to 1988, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
He continued his education at Iworo Ajido High School (now Lagos State Model College), Ebute Olofin, from 1989 to 1995. His dedication and active participation earned him the positions of Food and Health Prefect from 1994 to 1995. He later attended Government Secondary School, Ijanikin, from 1999 to 2000, where he completed his WAEC and WASCE examinations.
Mr. Muyideen pursued higher education in law at Lagos State University, Ojo, from 2000 to 2007, earning his LLB degree. During his fourth year, he was elected President of the Lagos State University Law Students Association (LASULAWS) for the 2005-2007 term. He played a pivotal role in conceptualizing the Annual Prince Bola Ajibola Moot Trial programme, which attracted notable figures from the legal profession and beyond.
Following his graduation, he attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, for mandatory legal education. He was elected President of the Lagos State Indigenes at the Nigerian Law School for the 2007-2008 session, balancing his leadership duties with his studies. He was called to the Nigerian Bar on May 20, 2008.
Mr. Muyideen began his legal career at Gbenga Ojo & Co as a Junior Counsel from July 2008 to September 2009. He then joined B. Ayorinde & Co (now B.A. Law LLP), where he advanced from Junior Counsel to Head of Litigation, Group A.
In October 2014, he established his own chambers, M.A.T. & Partners, later reorganized into a partnership, Muyideen & Pokanu, co-founded with Hon. Justice A.F. Pokanu. Following Pokanu’s elevation to the High Court of Lagos State, the firm was renamed M & P Legal. Muyideen is an accomplished practitioner with sixteen years of experience in civil litigation, covering various specializations, including election petitions. He has represented clients in all Nigerian Courts of Record, including the Apex Court.
He is married to Hajia Kabiroh Muyideen (née Abdul-Razak), and they are blessed with three children. His hobbies include reading, conducting legal research, and swimming.
MRS OLUWATOSIN AJOSE POPOOLA
Mrs Oluwatosin Ajose Popoola (née Ajose) was born on December 27, 1986 to Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Idowu Ajose of Zannu Compound, Ganho Quarters, Badagry Local Government, Lagos. She attended Grandmates Nursery & Primary School and Marybene Nursery & Primary School in Jakande Estate, Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos State. For her secondary education, she went to Eko Girls’ Grammar School, Okota, Isolo, Lagos State. Mrs. Popoola earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Lagos State University, Ojo, in 2011, graduating with Second Class (Upper Division), and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, where she was called to the Nigerian Bar on November 20, 2012. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Ibadan in 2017.
Mrs. Popoola undertook her compulsory National Youth Service at the Law Firm of Chief C.J. Aremu, SAN & Co. In October 2013, she joined the Law Firm of Musibau Adetunbi, SAN & Co., where she advanced from Junior Counsel to Head of Litigation. In this role, she oversaw all litigation matters and supervised more than a dozen lawyers. She has appeared and conducted cases at all superior Courts of Record, including the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Mrs. Popoola actively participated in the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Oyo State in 2015, as well as in Lagos State and Gombe State in 2023. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Beyond her legal career, Mrs. Popoola serves as a Sunday School teacher in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where she is the Area Coordinator for Sunday School Teachers in Dominion Arena Area of Oyo Province 12. Passionate about the spiritual wellbeing of young adults, she authored the book “Welcome Home: The Warmth of a Father’s Embrace” and created the blogging platform Love316, where she shares spiritual insights and experiences for youths. Her writing includes articles such as “The Constitutionality of Virtual Courts” published by DNL Legal and Style, “Reading: Cure for Ignorance and More,” “The Power of Industry and Discipline,” and “Paying it Forward: The Kindness that does not Cease.”
Committed to philanthropy, Mrs. Popoola has undertaken charity projects supporting orphans in her community. She was also on the planning committee for the 2021 Business of Law Conference hosted by Strictly Law Business. Her hobbies include reading and writing. She is married to Olasunkanmi Popoola and they are blessed with children.
